  • Family-friendly site in a pine forest 150 metres from a pebble beach
  • A short stroll from the lively island towns of the Lošinj isle
  • Woodland walks, playground and shop
This family-friendly site is based in an excellent spot in the middle of a fragrant pine forest catering for up to 1,000 people. That's not all, however, as Camping Rapoća has plenty of tradition and heritage; there's a fifth-century monastery and a belfry within camp. Here, unwind with plenty of peace and privacy, while still being only a short stroll away from the lively island towns of the Lošinj isle. The site covers between four and five acres, so you should never feel crowded. All pitches are located very close to the beach, so taking a quick dip has never been easier (or more convenient). Make your break as  active, relaxed or filled with exploration as you fancy. For keen windsurfers, Lopari (35 minutes' walk) is a great spot to step on the board and tame the wind. As you’d expect, watersports are easy to access here: Lošinj is a famed scuba diving spot and you can book paddleboarding or sailing trips in reception, as well as hire canoes and kayaks. The island has over 220 kilometres of hiking, cycling and mountain biking paths; local town Nerezine is under a kilometre away, and boat trips are easily available to nearby islands of Cres, Susak and Ilovik. Camping Rapoća's surrounding thick pine grove is great for woodland walks and adventures. Other facilities on site include a volleyball court and a playground. There's also an entertainment and activities programme of yoga, pilates and music nights, alongside a busy kids' club. There is a bistro on site which is open during high season only. The site also has a grocery shop, restaurant and beach bar. The two amenities blocks are suitable for disabled access.

Local attractions

The small fishing village of Nerezine, under 10 minutes’ walk from the site, is a pretty place for an hour or two’s wander around its old houses, marina, old square and 15th-century church, bell tower and monastery. Also have a look at Osor (five minutes’ drive), an outdoor museum with gardens, parks, ancient walls and forts, and music evenings in summer. If you’re island hopping (you surely should), cross to neighbouring isle Cres by the channel at Osor, to spend some time around the spectacular waters of Lake Vrana, one of the deepest freshwater lakes in eastern Europe. Cres town (35 minutes) is worth an afternoon too, to spend on the docks watching the boats come in – before grabbing yourselves a table in one of the restaurants. From Cres, drive along to Merag (20 minutes, or 50 from Camping Rapoća), for ferries to Valbiska on the island of Krk (at least a day needed here) and from there to the seaport of Rijeka (ditto).
