  • Family-friendly sea-view site in the seaside town of Stobreč
  • A 15-minute drive from central Split and half an hour from Trogir
  • Outdoor pool, spa, gym, grocery shop, restaurant and beachfront bars
Want to hear the waves of the Adriatic gently lapping on sandy shores? Then Camping Stobreč Split, a well-equipped beachfront site on the splendid Dalmatia coast, may well suit you to a tee… Set in Stobreč, a small town on the edge of the suburbs of Split, this park makes prime pitching ground for those of an outdoorsy disposition. A mighty mix of amenities – including a handy grocery shop, washing machines and showers to hose down both humans and hounds – is coupled with several sports pitches, a pool and a spa and wellness area, where a variety of soothing treatments can (nay, should) be arranged. There are also lots of places where you can load up on snacks and cooling drinks, with several beachfront bars and a full-sized family restaurant to choose from. You get a lot of beach for your buck at this pretty park, as the sea surrounds the place on two sides (with yet more scenic water on display in the Žrnovnica estuary next door). As might be expected, several seafaring activities are on offer here, with highlights including jetski rental, kayak excursions and pedalos. Off-site explores are also easy to come by: Camping Stobreč Split sometimes arranges site-organised trips, while self-guided tours of central Split are easily sorted too. Several bus routes are on hand to ferry you from the site to the city (journey time around 25 minutes), where highlights like Diocletian's Palace, the harbour and cathedral can all be easily taken in on a wander.

Liked: Dobra lokalizacja, blisko Splitu, wygodny autobus przy samym wejściu. Uber tez dostepny bez problemu.

Liked: Campeggio ben curato e pulito, molte piante e fiori tenuti molto bene.

Local attractions

What's so special about Split, then? If you haven't seen pics of Croatia's cracking second city yet, stop reading and get searching. For starters, there's UNESCO-listed heritage sites like Diocletian’s Palace (15 minutes' drive), one of south-eastern Europe's best-preserved Roman monuments. But simply strolling through the walled city is a marvellous way to pass the time, as is stopping off at its host of bars, restaurants and small shops. Split's handsome harbour is still very much a seafaring hub, so if you've the time to spare consider boarding a ferry or catamaran at the city's terminal (15 minutes) and setting off for islands like Brač (crossing time 50 minutes), Šolta (30 minutes to an hour) and Hvar (an hour). Sticking to the mainland is a good shout too, as spots like the walled town of Trogir (30 minutes) and Šibenik (an hour) also beckon. Also within range are the shimmering waterfalls of the Krka National Park (an hour), a must for nature fans.
