At 15 minutes’ drive from Zagreb’s photogenic Lower Town, Camping Bell Tent Savica is in prime position for sightseers keen to explore Croatia’s capital city. And if you’re equally keen on having a base away from the city bustle, this really is the spot for you as it’s in a peaceful location with views to Mount Medvednica. On grassy pitches sheltered by trees and surrounded by lush gardens, accommodation is in spacious, well-furnished bell tents with double bed, all towels and linen supplies, storage and lots of luxury touches like pretty scatter cushions and cosy rugs. Simple amenities include showers with disabled access, and any cooking is done in the shared kitchen or on the barbecue. Pick up essentials in the local supermarket (five minutes’ drive). The laid-back vibe on-site means you’re very likely to end up snoozing in a hammock on the chill-out terrace, but should you manage to drag yourself away from the alpine views, there are walks along the Sava River and bike rides direct from the pitches. Liked Warm welcome from eclectic manager who seemed to be doing a million jobs at once. Very quiet site. Unique experience. Lots of cats around as well.

Disliked It was a little chaotic. No signage for actual campsite.

Liked Nice, quiet place, easy access from the highway, decent& clean toilettes and shower facilities.
A very kind and welcoming lady in charge with the administration of the camp. please note : "this property is patrolled and protected by cats" - a few wonderful and playful cats that will win your heart immediately... However, it will be hard for you to win their attention and hearts.

Disliked The camping is situated in open field, there are no neighbors around it.

Liked The hostess was very kind and made sure we were good in every way. She made us feel very welcome.

There are plenty of campsites in the shade which was nice since it was quite warm.

It is very close to Zagreb which we came for, the location is very convenient for visiting Zagreb.

Disliked The campsite is a bit messy.

Liked The place is peacefull and quiet, with crickets singing during all the night. Gordana, who owns the campsite and hosted us, is so kind and generous ! She's a very interested person. We enjoyed talking with her.

Disliked Mosquitos. But they are not so numéros, and they attaché only in the evening.

Liked El camping es como en las fotos, hay varias tiendas y una cabaña en un árbol y sitio para varias caravanas o campers. La zona común es amplia y tiene de todo para cocinar. Los baños también son amplios. En general las instalaciones son básicas y debe gustarte la naturaleza, estás en el medio del campo, con huerto, animales, etc., no es un camping urbano. Gordana un encanto.

Disliked Se puede llegar al centro cogiendo dos autobuses, aunque se tarda bastante. Nosotras cogimos uber y sin problema.

Liked Great location for visiting Zagreb. Lovely helpful host. Fridge & freeer and access to kitchen. Shady tent pitch.

Disliked Toilets with doors that don’t shut (never mind lock) & showers with the hooks out in the shared bathroom. Many hungry mosquitoes so take precautions!

Just the right size for leisurely strolls, Zagreb (15 minutes’ drive) deserves at least a couple of days’ exploration. Some of the biggest-hitting museums include the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, but do also make time for the heart-rending exhibits at the Museum of Broken Relationships and the fun interactive holograms in the Museum of Illusions, or have a wander round the zoo in leafy Park Maksimir. If you’d rather be out in pristine countryside, head for the forested landscapes of Mount Medvednica (50 minutes), criss-crossed with hiking and cycling trails for all levels of fitness. Popular trails include a hike up ravines and past waterfalls to the ruins of medieval Medvedgrad (35 minutes) or up to the TV mast at Sljeme (55 minutes) for views back to Zagreb. There are more outdoorsy adventures to be had in Žumberak Samoborsko Gorje Nature Park (50 minutes), where you can find Iron Age burial mounds and caves carved out of the limestone hillsides. Keep an eye out for the indigenous wildlife as you walk, for the park has been repopulated with bears and wolves.
