  • Alongside the Nottawasaga River, in a beautiful location
  • Historical site to explore
  • Comfortable facilities and free wifi

Founded by John Nicol in 1853, this family-run campsite was originally known as “Carluke” which is Gaelic for “valley surrounded by hills”, and, along with the beautiful landscapes of the area, you can still see the original dam and mill, later converted into a flour and grist mill with whom the campsite started its activity.

Located alongside the Nottawasaga River, Nicolston is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the great outdoors: you can enjoy swimming, canoeing and fishing rainbow trouts and salmons, as well as walking and hiking and, if you fee a bit lazy, just chill out by the pool.

For history lovers, the area has a rich history to discover: long before Europe discovered the new world, the native people of Central Ontario were utilising the Nottawasaga River as a transportation route, and the river valley was also extensively used as a place for hunting and fishing, camping and ritual burying of the dead.

The campsite offers comfortable facilities such as toilet blocks with showers, launderette, washing-up corner, and free wifi is also available.
