If you like your outdoor activities to be many and varied, come along to Camp Pristavec in the Carinthian mountains. This family site is right on the banks of the river Möll, about 10 minutes' walk from Obervellach, and it's a great spot for those who like to fill their days with hikes, mountain bike rides and adventures like rafting and canyoning. Directly from the site, you can go into the forest to take the dog for a daily trot or follow one of the running routes. It’s also about half an hour’s walk to Groppensteinschlucht, an impressive gorge, and the trails of the Hohe Tauern National Park are within easy driving distance. For cyclists, there’s a mountain biking trail 500 metres from the site and a cycle bus runs to Grossglockner six days per week. And of course, in these gorgeous landscapes lots of excursions to lakes or mountains can be arranged. Back at base you can soothe any sore limbs in the tiny-house sauna and find a filling dinner at the restaurant, which serves traditional dishes from around the region. A firepit and barbecue area are on hand if you’d rather do your own cooking, and there's a weekly sociable barbecue and pizza evening. To get you going in the mornings, fresh rolls are available from 8am. Still got a bit of energy to expend? There's plenty of space for kids to run around and play here, and the site also has two playgrounds, a water play area, a basketball court, table tennis, a climbing wall and a golf area with driving range, putting green. And don't worry, all this open space means there's always a space to relax, too…

Liked Vriendelijk ontvangst. We kregen een mooie plek aangewezen, met prachtig zicht op de bergen. De kinderen hebben zich vermaakt op het belevingspad. Douches en toiletten netjes, wifi prima, en een fijn restaurant. Supermarkt op fiets/wandel afstand. We hebben een leuke rafting tocht gedaan vanaf de camping. En een wandeling gemaakt door de Groppensteinslucht.

Liked De accommodaties ,het restaurant was prima je kan hier goed eten ,ook de toiletvoorzieningen en douches waren prima in orde voor wat je verwacht van een camping .ook waren de eigenaren en het personeel erg vriendelijk ..zeker een aanrader voor wie een rustige simpel camping zoekt ,een tip neem sterke haringen mee als je met een tent komt de grond bevat nogal wat stenen .

Disliked Geen minpunten of ik zou de regen mee moeten rekenen maar dat kan niet 😆👌

Liked Fantastisk utsikt och underbar natur – jag uppskattade verkligen omgivningarna.

Disliked Sanitetsutrymmena hade tyvärr brister. Det var kallt, blött och inte tillräckligt städat, med en del skräp på golvet. Dessutom fanns det inget varmvatten efter kl. 19 eller på morgonen före kl. 9, vilket gjorde det svårt att duscha. Med bättre städning och tillgång till varmvatten under längre tider skulle helhetsupplevelsen bli mycket trevligare.

Liked Dat we een plek kregen toegewezen waar een plek vrij was

Disliked De plek die we kregen omdat ik licht gehandicapt ben kregen we een mooie plek tegenover de toiletten en douches maar ook tegenover de vuilcontainers en dat was ronduit slecht want kregen daardoor veel ongedierte

Liked Sehr freundliches Personal und gepflegte Anlage mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Hier schlug das Entdecker Herz eines elfjährigen Jungen gleich viel höher. Vom Kajak fahren über den nahe liegenden Fluss bis hoch hinaus auf den Kletterturm der durch Profis vorab das Kind und sich sicherte um ein Hochklettern gesichert zu gewährleisten und dabei motivierende bzw. mutmachende Worte übrig hatte. Eine Vielzahl an weiteren Aktivitäten für jung und alt steht ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Wanderwege wo man aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus kommt. Ringsum befindet sich eine atemberaubende Aussicht die vom Womi-Stellplatz genossen werden kann. Es ist so herrlich ruhig und man kann so richtig schön entspannen. Im Restaurant gibt es eine ausreichende Auswahl und das Bier schmeckt super!

Local attractions

If you've come along for adventure, you're in the right place. Rafting and canyoning excursions can be organised on site and there are heaps of hikes in the surrounding area from gentle wanders to proper challenges (tackling the national park’s seven summits, anyone?) A couple of great options nearby are the gorges Groppensteinschlucht (half an hour's walk) and Raggaschlucht (10 minutes' drive). Getting higher up, the ski resort of Mölltaler Gletscher (20 minutes) is a nice place for a hike in summer, with a popular glass-walled restaurant where you can soak up the views over a meal. Alternatively, see some of the landscapes from above while riding the cable car to Ankogel (25 minutes). For more scenery spotting, visit Falkenstein Castle (10 minutes) and Mauterndorf Castle (an hour) or meander past the Millstätter See (35 minutes), the second-largest lake in Carinthia.
