Local attractions

The King Valley is known for its wines but is also home to spectacular scenery, clear skies for stargazing and a wide range of activities from bushwalking to fine dining. Gastropubs, local cafés, country markets, fresh local produce, restaurants and vineyard dining are all available around the valley. For a self-guided drive, take the King Valley Prosecco Road through the valley, stopping at the wineries of Dal Zotto, Brown Brothers, Chrismont, Pizzini, Ciccone and Sam Miranda; for hiking, follow the course of the King River on its scenic route from through the King Valley and into the Ovens River at Wangaratta. Another good option is exploring local legends and folklore on the Ned Kelly Trail, running from Melbourne to Beechworth.
