Camping Baven-Toven Naturae

There are lots of hiking routes directly from the pitches, but you can also test your fitness levels on scenic routes in the mountain foothills. The Suka e Lepurit hiking area (35 minutes’ drive) follows forested valleys, and there are many more hiking options among the wetlands and waterways of Kune-Vain-Tale Reserve (45 minutes). Ulza Regional Nature Park (45 minutes) is a natural wonderland of lakes, forests and mountains, where you can also go kayaking, fishing and birdwatching for migrating waders. If a day at the beach appeals, there are a few beach bars at sandy Tale Beach (40 minutes), which is also popular for watching the sunset. For a dose of cultural heritage, you can be at the Rubik Church – the oldest in the Balkans – in 50 minutes’ stroll, or jump in the car to explore the ethnographic museum and ruined mosque at Kruja Castle (an hour’s drive). Wrap up your sightseeing by tasting the anise-flavoured raki produced at Kantina Arbëri (20 minutes).
