Peaceful Italian-run site a 10-minute drive from Tale’s sandy beach

Run by two Italian imports to Albania, Agricamping Italiano Eucalyptus is a peaceful site on the outskirts of the village of Shënkoll (five minutes’ drive). All around are cultivated fields, and the nearest beach (Tale, with soft golden sand and spectacular sunsets) is a 10-minute drive away, while the Kune-Vain-Tale Reserve, a birdwatching hub in the delta of the river Drin, is only a little farther (15 minutes). At 100 square metres each, the shaded grass and gravel pitches are fabulously spacious and capable of accommodating larger vehicles (access to the site is also straightforward – no tortuous roads here). Guests can while away the days splashing around in the small pool, organising family basketball or tennis tournaments, keeping on top of their fitness regime at the small gym, or hiring a bike on site and exploring the northern Albanian coast on two wheels. There’s also a pétanque court (though the Italians call it ‘bocce’…) and a playground, plus a dog park. Although there is no restaurant, the site owners can arrange a pizza and kebab delivery service. Alternatively, meals can be prepared in the communal kitchen with ingredients sourced from the on-site mini market. The nearest shop is on the E762 road (five minutes), or you can head into Lezhë (25 minutes), where restaurants serve freshly caught seafood.

Liked Very charming, natural spot! We only stayed 1 quick night so I cannot report about the whole experience, but it was very clean and we liked the cafe! Not every camping site has a nice spot like that- you can tell the owners are Italian ;)

Local attractions

At the Kune-Vain-Tale Reserve (15 minutes’ drive), a large area of wetlands and Mediterranean forests, you might spot pink flamingos, pelicans and stilts looking for food among the reeds. A walk due north along Vainni Beach takes you to the delta of the river Drin, which you can then follow inland to the town of Lezhë. Overlooked by the ruins of an eighth-century hilltop castle, the town of Lezhë (25 minutes) has a long history going back to the Romans and beyond. A park on the river Drin honours Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero, with a modern memorial and a statue. En route to Shkodër (an hour and 20 minutes), stop to admire the ruins of Rozafa Castle, guarding the confluence of the rivers Buna and Drin from its rocky perch. In Shkodër, check out the twin slender minarets of the Ebu Beker Mosque, or head into the ‘Marubi’ National Museum of Photography to explore the history of a family of pioneering Albanian photographers.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
