Glamping with Black Mountain views, four miles from town of books Hay, and a pub within a minute’s lurch…Wye wouldn’t you, say we…

The team at Wye Glamping have the laudable ambition of bringing guests close to nature but immersing them in comfort and style too, so even reluctant campers/other halves should be mightily impressed with the luxury bell tents and yurt here, all with proper beds, kitchen hut of their very own and on wooden platforms in their own private camps.

Each also has a compost loo, the stream running alongside, a firepit, picnic table and deckchairs, and a little individual library of books, toys and games for rainy days…again, Wye wouldn’t you?

For supplies, the site is on the edge of Velindre village and pub (there are a couple of small play parks here too), and there’s a petrol station selling basics in the nearby village of Three Cocks, and a Co-op, butchers, bakeries and greengrocers in Hay-on-Wye. Fancy some boutique shopping to go with the sense of luxury? The market town of Brecon is ten miles away.

Wye Glamping is on the Hay Festival shuttle bus route for literarati going to the festival: the bus passes the site doorstep every hour, going to the festival from 845am, with the last bus leaving Hay at 1115pm.
