  • Small family-run Pembrokeshire site with dog-friendly grassy pitches
  • A 35-minute walk from Saundersfoot and a five-minute drive to Tenby
  • Barbecues welcome; farm shop within five minutes' walk
Gold-sand coves, limestone stacks and fishing harbours… get your Pembrokeshire fix at Crane Cross Camping Park. Based just 35 minutes’ walk from Saundersfoot, where the sandy cove has shallow bathing water, this small family-run site has a splendid location alright. Tenby, a popular Pembrokeshire seaside town with a castle, 13th-century walls and a harbour where boats depart to Caldey Island, is only five minutes’ drive away too. Dog-friendly? Indeed. Barbecues welcome? That too.Handy facilities? Of course. There’s a fridge and freezer in case you want to store fresh eats from the farm shop five minutes’ walk away. Other on-site facilities are handy and include ladies and gents’ toilets, handwashing basins, unisex showers, shaver points, washing-up facilities, an ironing board and hot and cold water. For an additional cost, there’s also a washing machine, dryer and payphone available. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a sand play area where they can dig, explore and make friends. The site only accepts families and couples, which keeps things nice and peaceful. Dogs are welcome too as long as they're kept on leads… It's a cracking location for walks for canines (or humans), with the countryside and coast so easily accessible.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, clean, and friendly campsite with spacious pitches and a popular play area for children. Its convenient location offers easy access to Saundersfoot and Tenby. While the facilities are generally reported as clean and functional, some guests note they are basic and could benefit from updating. Noise from nearby roads has been mentioned by a few visitors.

Liked Relaxed atmosphere, flat pitches with choice of shady areas. Showers easily regulated and kept clean. Shop selling great food within walking distance.

Disliked Sinks for washing up too low for comfort.

Liked Stayed here twice now and its always been a pleasant one - location is great - 30 mins walk into Saundersfoot - plenty of loos - always lots of loo roll- good washing up facilities and a lovely chilled site. Non-electric grass motorhome pitch (solo)

Liked Quiet site at a great location close to several beaches, where I was able to choose my own pitch which had a fabulous sunset view. There was plenty of loo roll and recycling bins. Showers not tied but looked adequate. I also appreciated the single person rate. I'm sure I'll be back.

Liked Nice facilities, good location for lots of beaches.
Good play area for kids
Showers were good
Toilet facilities were good
Washing machine and tumble dryer were good value for money.

Disliked If you camp in the left field (as you enter the site), it you camp near the bush line on the road, you are directly opposite the reclamation centre, who start work at about 5am …

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Really lovely site. The owner was really nice. The pitch we were on was really quiet and spacious. The park was really well maintained and our children loved the sandpit. We liked the fact that there was a dog exercise area.
The communication was good before arrival, the message told us where to enter and then there were further signage upon arrival to tell us which was our pitch. Really well organised.

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire has got a few tricks up its sleeves for family-friendly days out: Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes' drive) is perennially popular, with over 750 animals and vintage fairground rides, or you could step back in time to see the giant beasts at Dinosaur Park Tenby (five minutes). Paintball, golf, archery, fishing… get your dose at Heatherton World of Activities (five minutes). If you’re still craving animals, however, Manor Wildlife Park (five minutes) has a walking safari where guests can have a go at feeding the wallabies. You bet that Pembrokeshire also has some gorgeous coastal path sections, with excellently clear waters and geological formations. The Green Bridge, Elugug Stacks and The Cauldron are all half an hour’s drive away, as is Saint Govan’s Chapel by the sea and the sandy Broad Haven South beach (half an hour), backed by a lily pond.
