  • Peaceful adults-only rural site 15 minutes' drive from Cardigan
  • A 20-minute walk from Tresaith beach and coastal footpaths
  • Dog-friendly site with bike racks for cycle storage
If you ever needed an excuse for a lengthy seaside stay, it’s perhaps worth reading up on recent research that confirms what you knew all along – being by water is good for both physical and mental health… Armed with such scientific facts, it’s highly recommended that you plan an escape to Esgaireithin Caravan Site forthwith (citing health reasons if you feel the need to justify a break). From this small adults-only site between Aberporth and Penbryn it’s a leisurely 20-minute trot to Tresaith beach, where you can paddle, hire kayaks, feast on ice creams (or hot choc if it's not frozen snack weather) or pick up the Ceredigion Coast Path for a lengthier ramble. There’s a fab friendly (and dog-friendly) pub in the village too, for meals and post-walk pints out on the sea-view terrace. For barbecues back at base, pick up all the necessaries at the supermarket a mile away (it's got an in-house bakery, butchery, fresh veg and off licence, so best take a few bags to fill). Cardigan town is eight miles from the site. Binoculars are a fine investment for a trip to these parts: you’ll spot regular wild visitors at this peaceful site and dolphins and seals put in frequent appearances in the bay. Bring bikes too if you like, as each caravan has a cycle rack for your wheels. Dogs (as you may have noticed) are pretty keen on the seaside too, so Esgaireithin has been set up to welcome four-legged pals too: they’ve even got their own exercise field for running about and meeting fellow holidaying hounds.

Sahara 1 bedroom static caravan

Liked The caravan was such good value for money. Basic but had everything we needed. The garden area and enclosed field were perfect for our dog to play in safely and the views and peaceful surroundings were perfect for us. We would definitely come back here.
The location, 15minutes' walk down a quiet lane, to Tresaith, is ideal and the easy walk along the coast path to Aberporth is hugely recommended. There are so many gorgeous places around to visit too making Esgaireithin a fantastic base for exploring by car too.

Sahara 1 bedroom static caravan

Liked The location was fantastic; great views, the caravan was immaculate and extremely well equipped and all pitches have large enclosed safe areas for dogs.
Very friendly greeting when we arrived, the owner couldn't be more helpful.
Beach only a 15 min walk away, Tesco and Aldi only 15-20 min drive away; everything you could possibly want on your doorstep in fantastic surroundings. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs a break from day-to-day life!

Disliked Nothing, everything was fantastic.

Local attractions

At 60 miles long, the Ceredigion Coast Path might be a little daunting for most visitors, but even short chunks cram in heaps of gorgeous views and spectacular beaches, so plan to cover as much or as little as you like. Highlights nearby include the waterfall at Tresaith beach and the lovely beaches at Penbryn and Aberporth (both about 45 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive). Want to get even closer to the sea? Tresaith's beach is popular with surfers, and there are also great waves at Poppit Sands (20 minutes) and Llangrannog (15 minutes). Cardigan (15 minutes) is a hive of activities for intrepid sorts – coasteering, paddleboarding and sea kayaking are all on the menu here. Looking for something a little less hair-raising? Folk fascinated by engineering will want to examine the engine collection at the Internal Fire Museum of Power (five minutes’ drive), while arty types may prefer a wander in the gardens at Sculptureheaven (10 minutes). Castle wanders are never too far away in Wales either – 13th-century Cilgerran Castle (20 minutes) is your nearest place to roam among ruins.
