- Cabin with stunning views over Cardigan Bay
- 10 minutes' walk from Aberaeron; two minutes from sea and coast path
- Kitchenette and bathroom, plus hot tub overlooking the sea
A hot tub on hols is always a fine thing. A sea view is on hols is an equally fine thing. And in an easy equation even for the mathematically challenged, it follows that a hot tub with a sea view is a very good thing indeed.
For this cracking Ceredigion combo you’ll need to head way out west, to Ty Gwyn Apartments on the outskirts of the town of Aberaeron. This fab spot is right by the sea with gorgeous views out over Cardigan Bay and easy access to the Ceredigion Coast Path, a couple of minutes' wander away through a neighbouring field. Seaside strolls are a splendid idea, of course – especially if you reward any such hiking efforts with a session in that open-air hot tub (for a small extra charge).
After all the walks and watery wallowing, keep the sea views going as you settle in your little studio; it’s got a small kitchenette (with access to a fridge-freezer) for snacks and drinks as you gaze out of the window, and there’s also a shower room with toilet and sink for easy ablutions.
Heading out, it’s a 10-minute stroll down to the centre of Aberaeron for pubs, eats and beach days, and around a 15-minute drive to New Quay, a hub for dolphin-spotting boat trips.
Open from 26/09/2020 to 28/11/2020
Spray tan users are not allowed to use the hot tub.
Please note that the summer house is in the owners' garden; however, it is privately set and is for the exclusive use of guests.
From 2020 please be aware that there is no longer direct access to the beach and Coastal Path for dogs.

Head out of Aberaeron towards Aberystwyth for a quarter of a mile. Take the left towards the rugby club, then turn right down the hill.
Aberaeron’s got two patches of beach to seek out, with one of them being a good launching spot for those who’ve got canoes, small boats or windsurfers to take out on the sea. If paddling in the waves here seems a tad chilly, take swims in the town’s leisure centre instead.
Heading into town is best done on foot with a 10-minute wander along the coast path; once you’ve warmed up with that little wander it’s also worth making the trip to the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron estate, a smart pad a couple of miles away along a quiet path (also suitable for folk travelling on two wheels).
A little further afield are go-karting and coarse fishing (both about four miles away) and busy days out poking around in Aberystwyth (half an hour’s drive), taking in the castle, the beaches, the National Library of Wales and the classic cliff railway. Surely also on the must-do list is a dolphin-spotting boat trip from New Quay (15 minutes’ drive).
