  • Small and peaceful family-run site in Carmarthenshire countryside
  • Carmarthen, Castell Dryslwyn and a heritage railway 20 minutes’ drive
  • Set among 32 acres of woodland with a fly fishery and cosy café
Set in Carmarthenshire countryside, family-run Garnffrwd Park is a small and peaceful woodland site in 32 acres of gorgeous Welsh scenery, with a fly fishery and a café with views over the fishing lake from its terraces. Quiet it may be, but it’s only 10 minutes’ drive from the A48, giving you easy access into the local area for all sorts of days out. Modern toilet and shower facilities, waste disposal and fresh water are just a short walk from the pitches. There’s an abundance of countryside walks direct from the site for when you and your canine chums need a quick stretch of the legs, as well as dog-friendly beaches at Llansteffan and Burry Port (both half an hour in the car). Lakeview Café is open Wednesday to Saturday, and you also have the option of several local pubs offering home-cooked food and Welsh ales within 15 minutes’ drive. The site is also 20 minutes’ drive from Carmarthen, its castle, coffee shops, restaurants and indie shops.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Beautiful lake
Friendly and helpful owners
Peaceful pitch
Fab cafe overlooking lake on site
Clean amenities and big shower room (£1 shower token lasts 10 mins)
Level pitch

Disliked It was fine for us as we had a porta potty, but would've been a bit of a trek to the toilet otherwise. Just an observation.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked The perfect place if you want peace and tranquility. Just pure relaxation, everything you need on site for the most chilled weekend.

The owners Phil and Dani are amazing , we forgot our tent pegs , we thought we’d give Phil and dani a ring to see if they sold any on site , they didn’t but the dropped they’re personal ones up without any hesitation. Honestly the kindest of people and always willing to help , felt like we’d known them for years.

The shower and toilet are perfect for what you need yes there is only two toilets and one shower on site , but not once did we have to wait to use them , always super clean and tidy and the site was fully booked and you wouldn’t even know that it was.

Cafe on site for a perfect coffee and breakfast sitting out taking in the beautiful fishing lake.

I’d most definitely recommend you visit this site if you want complete relaxation for the time you’re there. We’ve already booked again.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Beautiful grounds and lake all immaculately kept. One male and one female toilet plus a shower room, all kept clean, cafe was reasonably priced and the staff and owners were all lovely. Pitch was spacious, electric hookup worked great. Mobile signal fantastic across the site and there was fast WiFi by the facilities/cafe

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Secluded location & in the vicinity for the Welsh Botanic Gardens

Disliked Set up more as a fishery than a camp site.
Vehicles passing early hours on site (presume to go and fish).
Not much to do if you are not into fishing.
Didn't find any dish washing facilities.
Understand that the owners have only had the place for under two months, however some basic things still need attention.
One more thing, while i have my critical hat on, it can be a bit tight up the lanes if you approach the wrong way.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked A gem in South Wales! I was looking for somewhere quiet, scenic with good clean basic facilities. This site ticks all those boxes. The lovely couple have only taken it over 5 weeks ago and are always on hand to help if needed.
Grassy pitches with a quiet location behind the trees was ideal for me.
Great full English in the cafe!
Definitely recommend it if you want something quiet, scenic and peaceful.

Disliked For me, none.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind review! Our cafe is only currently open Wednesday-Saturday 10-2 but we will be looking to extend the hours once we have settled a bit more, but it's definitely a shame you missed the breakfast because it is delicious!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great site in a fantastic location. Couldnt be anymore welcoming on arrival. Shower and Toilet facilities are incredibly well kept equally impressive on the day that it had been hammering down with rain that the shower and toilets were mud free and clean.
Could not recommend this place more if your looking for somewhere perfectly situated to explore south west wales.
Our first time camping and our first time here already planning our next stay. incredible location and so peaceful at night with Croas hands only 13 minutes away offering access to supermarkets and shops and both swansea and Carmarthen close by along with plenty of beaches within 20/30 minutes

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked What a site!! Lovely and peaceful, clean and the owners were so helpful and polite. The food in the cafe came out piping hot and tasted great, it was all freshly cooked to order which is unheard of these days in cafe’s, lovely walks around the lake and also fly fishing too if that’s your thing. The owners had only recently purchased the site, like 3 weeks before we stayed and they already have it working down to a tee. I accidentally towed my caravan down the hill to reception and then couldn’t get it back out again 🙈 luckily the owners were good enough to pull it back up the hill for me without hesitation. We have already booked to go back again as we enjoyed so much the last time. If you want a nice, relaxing, peaceful holiday then this is the place to go, I can’t recommend it enough 👌

Disliked The only thing I can fault with this site is the fact I didn’t see any signage telling me to stop at the pitch and not drive down to reception, maybe an idea to put one up near the touring pitches if there’s isn’t one there, entrance is a little tight coming in but not excessively tight
