Welcome

  • Small, peaceful family-run site just outside Marloes village
  • Among spectacular scenery a hike or short drive from the beach
  • Two and a half miles from boat trips to Skomer Island
Head way out west, almost to the far end of a Pembrokeshire peninsula and a peaceful break at Foxdale Campsite, on the edge of the village of Marloes: this small site 25 minutes’ drive west of Haverfordwest is surrounded by splendid scenery, and the pitches are fully sheltered from the breezes that occasionally buffet the nearby coast. There are some fab hikes around here (particularly for those who choose to treat their boots to a jaunt on the always-scenic Pembrokeshire Coast Path), and some equally excellent options for other ways to see this cracking stretch of coastline: might you be tempted by wildlife-watching boat trips, windsurfing days, surf lessons or galloping through the shallows on horseback perhaps? Such levels of activity aren’t compulsory, of course (cue sigh of relief from folks seeking flop time). The marvellous Marloes Sands is a mere mile and a half away for easy beach days – the place is so pretty it’s even earned itself a role in a Hollywood film (part of Snow White and the Huntsman was filmed here in 2011). To feed your outings (whatever they may be), settle in for meals at the pub a short stroll away. Takeaways and breakfasts are available from the on-site food trailer at weekends and during busy days during the summer (please call the site to check the availability before your stay). Essential amenities are all sorted on site: basic showers and toilets, laundry facilities, a fridge-freezer and a washing-up area. The village also has a pizza takeaway, a short walk away. The nearest shop is at a café in Dale, 10 minutes' drive away.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Brilliant site. A lovely peaceful site where the owners, wardens and catering team- Top 1 food, are excellent and couldn’t do enough for you.
The village is nice and a short walk from some lovely walking and beautiful sea views. A trip to see the puffins topped it all off, with a lift to catch the ferry an added bonus. The dogs had a great time at Marloes Sands worth the walk. I would highly recommend Foxdale and would certainly return.

Liked Really nice, well looked after site. Got everything you need and was a perfect spot for our trip over to Skomer Island, as only about a 10 minute drive. A lovely friendly welcome when we got there too, would 100% recommend.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely warm hosts,
The pitches are nice and spacious
The food truck is so tasty, lovely owners and always so welcoming

Disliked Queuing for a shower even late at night as the campsite was busy and only three showers.
Showers and toilets could have been a bit cleaner at busier times
Dogs are supposed to be on leads but we had issues with dogs off lead and barking next to us.

Liked Lovely peaceful site. Great showers (new block). Very friendly owners, and there’s an on site shop. Also a catering van which opens for breakfast and dinner - good value homemade food. Close to Puffin Shuttle bus stop which makes it good for walkers.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Travelled to visit Skomer Island with my adult daughter. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything explained. Little food hut on site where you could get breakfast, evening meal or order a packed lunch. Only bought some chips as we’re in a van. Also a shop for the essentials. We got back from a baking hot day on skomer island to a 30p jubbly! Very welcome. Had all the essentials you may have forgotten as well as treats. We were on the hard standing but most of the area was grass. Wasn’t full as mid week but looked spacious. Toilets and showers efficient and clean. Showers were actually really good - proper showers! It is also just 10 min drive to the skomer island day trip car park. Not marked child friendliness as N/a

Disliked Would have liked some wifi especially as the local mast dropped out entirely. I get there’s a whole bunch of people who’ll lecture me how they like to camp. You do you! But some of us are able to camp mid week because we can do a bit of work remotely. So that’s my only complaint.

The staff are fantastic and will do anything they can to help…

Liked A Lovely Campsite with Thoughtful Touches

I recently stayed at this campsite and had a genuinely great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really set the tone for the whole visit.

There’s a small on-site shop that’s stocked with all those little essentials you’re bound to forget—things like eggs, bread, and even camping bits like temp pegs. Super handy and reasonably priced.

The shower cubicles were spacious, warm, and spotlessly clean—some of the nicest I’ve used at a campsite. The toilets were also very well maintained, which makes a big difference when you're staying a few days.

One of the highlights was the little static food truck. It was open for breakfast and dinner, and you could even get a packed lunch made up for the day. The food was genuinely tasty and excellent value for money.

All in all, it’s clear the owners have put real thought into what campers need. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

Local attractions

The local beach – an energetic walk or a very short drive away – is clean, uncrowded Marloes Sands, a huge expanse of beach at low tide, with rockpools and unusual cliff formations for added drama. Turn your sights in the opposite direction to hit the north Pembrokeshire coast with a 10-minute drive for the views over St Bride’s Bay. Hop on a boat at nearby Martin’s Haven for the 15-minute crossing to Skokholm and Skomer islands, bliss for birdwatchers: as well as cormorants, razorbills and many other sea birds, between April and August the islands play home to a sizeable puffin colony. Skomer is also a good place to see grey seals, although you can often spot them from dry land as well, during the short walk around the cliff tops at Martin’s Haven Deer Park (no deer, but spectacular wildflowers and sea views). For active types, there are many more fab walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, as well as golf, sailing, windsurfing, sea fishing and pony trekking nearby. Also within a 45-minute drive are the teeny city of St Davids, family-friendly days at Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo… plus Pembrokeshire beaches galore of course…
