What customers say
This peaceful farm campsite boasts stunning views and a remote feel, yet is conveniently located near Pontypool. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and welcoming hosts, the farm animals, and the quiet atmosphere. Facilities are generally described as clean and sufficient, though some reviews mention basic amenities. Occasional reports of long grass and a tricky access road exist, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Liked Amazing view! Peaceful .
Good shower and toilet
Disliked Big hill to haul camping gear up to / to go up and down for toilet and shower etc.
Road to the farm is a bit gnarly! Potholes and lots of gravel that my car kept almost getting stuck in.
Hot / no shade - trees etc to camp under.

Black Mountain shepherd's hut
Liked Warm welcome and some milk for my tea. Gorgeous walk up to the farm meeting the pigs and sheep, when you turn around you've got a magnificent view. Comfy bed and it's got all you need to camp out. Couldn't recommend more.

A fantastic, regenerative stay
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Helpful and welcoming hosts telling stories about their farm and the animals they keep. Beautiful scenery and hiking paths. You can buy fresh farm produce - absolute delight! Fresh, organic and so tasty prepared on a barbeque!
All needed facilities, like a shower, toilet and water source, clean and accessible.
The sky was full of stars in the night and you can enjoy the sunrise in a beautiful scenery next to a Folly Tower accompanied by cows and bird songs!
No children, and therefore peaceful and relaxing.
Disliked Actually only one place where you can have fire (the shepherd's hut), but it is a minor inconvenience.

From the manager: Sorry about BBQs but with 8 acres of hay down on the hottest day of the year and grass being tinder dry it’s best not to have open fires! Next time we hope to be back to camp fires allowed! ( it will probably rain anyway!!)
Very good

From the manager: I totally agree about the loo. Very sorry. It won’t happen again. Hope to have a more per infant one in place for next year. Looking forward to having you again, I’ll order better weather for you! By the way, we bought a beautiful, friendly ram for our ewes, sorry we couldn’t say goodbye.
