Liked I like this place due to location

Disliked So my bad point are the ladies toilets where not clean at all someone had taken the dirty dog in and so this left a muddy floor.
I went to shower the two little girls i had with we couldnt put any thing on the floor due to the dirt.so you felt dirty again as there feet where on the floor when drying them
I did try and go into the pub but by 9pm it was close so there was noone around to ask for a mob to clean the floor myself.
On leaving the site the gentleman who own the site was in the carpack so I kindly put my view across about having a cleaner in the evening to just do a quick once over but he was very hostile towards me which I found quite rude. They clean the toilet between 11-12 in the morning. So they are left for 24hr without anyone going in to cheek on them. Even he could just go in a check that they are clean for the guess whom are staying onsite. I payed £42 for the night which I thought over priced for what you got.
The play area is very small and part of the pub not the campsite it self.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Close enough to Abergavenny to be useful and with some lovely views. Good walks along the river which are. Accessible from he rear gate.

Set behind a nice pub that serves good food and beer!

Disliked At 6m wide the pitches are too small for modern caravan/motorhome set ups. There is a request for no awnings, which is unrealistic and is not enforced, and is most annoying for the few of us that did comply.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our pitch next to our friends as requested. The site looks to be making improvements and our hard standing pitch as level. We had received an email before arrival stating no awnings/gazebos allowed but as others had, we were pleased to be able to put out our fiama. The site is located at the rear of The Rivers Edge pub/restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our evenings in there that we went every night. The chef is excellent and we tried various dishes during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed all. We also liked the bus stop allowing us to get into Abergavenny without driving.

Disliked My only gripe was the toilet/bathroom facilities. The light fitting in the ladies flashed constantly which was quite off putting. Also the cleanliness wasn't brilliant. The floor was quite dirty and there was no equipment to wash floor before and after using shower which would help especially when the site has camping tents too. I understand that this area is on the plans for refurbishment.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Easy access. Friendly welcome and shown to pitch. Secure site which was well laid out, good size pitches and very clean. Toilet block and showers next to be upgraded at end of season, but still clean and functional. Great location for scenic walks, nearby river great to cool dogs on a hot day, field nearby for well behaved dogs to run (gorgeous cows other side of the wire). As off a main road some traffic noise as you would expect, but also means bus route for short trip to Abergavenny. Local pub in walking distance for a change of scene. On site pub has friendly and welcoming staff, with wonderful food cooked by a chef who clearly takes pride in the meals he serves (booking a table is wise) Site got busier on the Friday but no issue with noise as restrictions were all adhered to. Great location for our stop on route from north to Wales. Would recommend and return.

Disliked Can’t think of anything.

Liked Great Location, quiet and a good sized pitch. The pub sold a good range of beers and very good food.

Historic Hereford (half an hour) has plenty to keep everyone happy for the day, from the exquisite medieval Mappa Mundi in the Norman-era cathedral to the period oak furniture and wall hangings at the half-timbered Black and White House Museum, which dates from 1621. Learn about the region’s industrial heritage at the Waterworks Museum, and round off the trip at the Cider Museum for a guided tour and tasting session. Kids behaved nicely? Time for trekking adventures at Golden Valley Llamas (15 minutes).
