  • Spectacular setting for the Gower Peninsula, overlooking Oxwich Bay
  • Refurbished eco-friendly shower block with underfloor heating
  • Large adventure playground
You will, of course, have heard of the great Gower Peninsula. This spectacular south Wales spot of cliffs, coves, caves and bays is so handsome it was designated the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK way back in 1956, made up of 70 square miles from Loughor Estuary to Swansea Bay; if you've never been, this really must be on your holiday list. The folk at award-winning Greenways of Gower Premier Leisure Park reckon their location is 'second to none' for Gower camping – and once you arrive there, you'll reckon they're right. Right in the centre of the peninsula, Greenways overlooks stunning Oxwich Bay and its two and a half miles of golden sands, once named as the best beach in Britain; Rhossili Bay, several times voted the best beach in Wales, is under 20 minutes' drive from here. Greenways is a family-run and family-orientated park, with grass pitches and plenty of space. Gratified previous guests have lauded the amenities as 'exceptional': they include an eco-friendly and modern shower block with underfloor heating running off an air source heat pump, plus disabled facilities and a parent and baby washroom. For leisurely pursuits, a big adventure playground is next to the camping area. There's also a pizza truck and a pop-up bar on site (these two are available on weekends in the summer or on bank holidays). Shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

This well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches and stunning views, conveniently located a short walk from Oxwich Beach. Visitors consistently praise the clean and modern toilet and shower facilities, as well as the helpful and friendly staff. The on-site pizza bus and bar are popular additions. While generally peaceful, some guests noted occasional noise from other campers and the wind exposure in some pitches. The site is highly recommended for families and those seeking a relaxing coastal getaway.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely campsite, perfect for our first time camping! The Pizza bus was a great addition when we didn't feel like cooking after putting the tent up. Great play park for the little ones and the ice cream van comes around each evening. Facilities are great, lots of toilets and showers and all kept clean. 2 huge chest freezers to store your ice packs and bits. Bring some £1 and 20p coins if you want to use the washers or dryer, i found drying our beach stuff really hand rather than having it all damp lying around the tent. We'll definitely be back!

Disliked Maybe a communal fridge but it wasn't a big deal just having the freezers.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked You could camp where you wanted to suit your group. Location and scenery backdrop to site. Large toilet and shower block. Liked the ice cream van visit and pizza bus.

Disliked Unfortunately both nights had cannabis wafting into our tent- although we told security we were not able to locate the offenders.
Also potentially down to people staying there I felt the showers/toilets were not as clean as I hoped.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Great facilities, park for kids, nice bus that serves drinks and food. Has 24/7 security guards that walk the site and engage with you. The beach is a 15 min walk or couples mins by car but the car park for it is expensive.

Disliked The road into site is very steep and windy with narrow bits making it difficult to pass other cars

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The facilities were well-maintained and arrival instructions clear. Great location.

Disliked The £40 per night was expensive for a non-electric pitch on a field for our campervan. Pitches were a free for all in the field and the site was extremely busy and seemed to be booked over capacity. There were other campers pitched extremely close to us as few other options for them.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Incredible view, great park for the kids, super close to the beach, I think a 4 min drive down the hill (beach car park massive and right by the beach, was supposed to pay £15 but paid £8 I think the man felt sorry for me)
There weren’t set pitches and it was soooo quiet considering it was first week of summer hols! We were in a field right by the shower/loo block and there was only two tents and three campers! Total hidden gem!
Really friendly in reception!

Disliked Not sure that they have any electric pitches but we didn’t need as had gas.

Not a single other dislike!

Didn’t use the WiFi so not sure how that works. Good phone signal.

Local attractions

The stunning sands of Oxwich Bay and their fringe of dunes, woodland and coastal footpath should be your first Gower Peninsula port of call, for long lazy days sunbathing and sandcastle building, summer watersports such as sailing, swimming, windsurfing and diving, and boat and jetski launch from the beach. Around the sands, this is prime walking land: take the Gower Coast Path from the bay for a three-and-a-half-mile coastal and woodland ramble to Oxwich Point, or around the same distance from the bay to Port Eynon Walk via Three Cliffs Bay and Port Head. The wetland site of Oxwich National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is also well worth a wander. For a city sightseeing day, Swansea is half an hour's drive from the park.
