  • Spectacular setting for the Gower Peninsula, overlooking Oxwich Bay
  • Refurbished eco-friendly shower block with underfloor heating
  • Large adventure playground
You will, of course, have heard of the great Gower Peninsula. This spectacular south Wales spot of cliffs, coves, caves and bays is so handsome it was designated the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK way back in 1956, made up of 70 square miles from Loughor Estuary to Swansea Bay; if you've never been, this really must be on your holiday list. The folk at award-winning Greenways of Gower Premier Leisure Park reckon their location is 'second to none' for Gower camping – and once you arrive there, you'll reckon they're right. Right in the centre of the peninsula, Greenways overlooks stunning Oxwich Bay and its two and a half miles of golden sands, once named as the best beach in Britain; Rhossili Bay, several times voted the best beach in Wales, is under 20 minutes' drive from here. Greenways is a family-run and family-orientated park, with grass pitches and plenty of space. Gratified previous guests have lauded the amenities as 'exceptional': they include an eco-friendly and modern shower block with underfloor heating running off an air source heat pump, plus disabled facilities and a parent and baby washroom. For leisurely pursuits, a big adventure playground is next to the camping area. There's also a pizza truck and a pop-up bar on site (these two are available on weekends in the summer or on bank holidays). Shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

Greenways of Gower offers stunning views and a fantastic location within walking distance of Oxwich beach. Visitors consistently praise the clean, well-maintained facilities, including plentiful hot showers. The on-site pizza bus and bar are popular additions. While many enjoy the spacious, unallocated pitches, some found it busy and noisy during peak times, with occasional issues regarding pitch proximity and facility cleanliness. The site is well-regarded for its family-friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful views. Nicely located for a hike down the hill to Oxwich Bay beach. There's also fish and chips, and an ice cream parlour there.

It was quiet at night(after 10pm) despite the presence of quite a few groups of youngsters (20 something's) that were obviously there for a party! It was a large site and being on top of a hill we were able to find a level pitch.

Disliked It's a very narrow road up to the site, if you're in a motorhome, passing is tricky.

Quite a large site and we experienced groups of young adults being lively/playing music etc, but this didn't go until late (10pm music curfew) and we slept well.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked Great views of Oxwich Bay m. Lots of space, quiet for a family site- great for old coders like us!

Clean good showers - and plenty of them. Pristine toilets. Easy access to beach and coastal bath.

Welcoming staff and facilities staff - cleaners and groundsmen were very friendly

A little shop with basics might be good, but there was a shop very nearby

Disliked Nothing

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful setting overlooking Oxwich bay. The site was extremely clean with staff visible throughout the stay looking after the grass, toilets/showers etc. Security staff were friendly and seen at regular points around the site. People adhered to the clear signage about noise. Lovely green spaces to play and walk the dog. The children loved the park.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked The view was great. It was very quiet, (despite it being very busy as it's the summer holiday) which was lovely. Good shower block.
The groundsmen were exceptionally helpful and friendly when we needed to find a water tap with hose attachment tap.

Disliked Paid for large pitch but its a 'free for all' park where you like, so there was no having extra space around us.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything was fantastic, clean tidy, quiet!
On-site washing, drying and freezers was an extra bonus.
Highlight was the pizza bus and bar.
We used the site as a base while we visited the local areas, which is a must too.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked This is a fabulous campsite. We stayed for 1 night. We found the facilities to be of a very high standard. There were plenty of toilets, washing up sinks and accessible freezers to use. We liked your pitch where you want policy and were able to have our car right by us. Could we also say thank you to your receptionist, who was able to recommend an excellent local tire garage to us. They sorted out our issue quickly and allowed us to get on with our day.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked 3 big spacious fields
Lots of showers and toilets
Plenty hot water
Lots of families so nice atmosphere

Disliked No pitches so when we went out in our camper van someone took our spot!
Toilets closed for cleaning at random times so big queues formed.
£96 for 2 nights with 2 dogs was terribly expensive with few facilities.
No shop.
No maps of local walks.
Ice cream van came each night, but a van with croissants etc for breakfasts would have been very useful.

Local attractions

The stunning sands of Oxwich Bay and their fringe of dunes, woodland and coastal footpath should be your first Gower Peninsula port of call, for long lazy days sunbathing and sandcastle building, summer watersports such as sailing, swimming, windsurfing and diving, and boat and jetski launch from the beach. Around the sands, this is prime walking land: take the Gower Coast Path from the bay for a three-and-a-half-mile coastal and woodland ramble to Oxwich Point, or around the same distance from the bay to Port Eynon Walk via Three Cliffs Bay and Port Head. The wetland site of Oxwich National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is also well worth a wander. For a city sightseeing day, Swansea is half an hour's drive from the park.
