What customers say
This campsite offers a beautiful, peaceful setting by the River Taff, with well-equipped and clean communal kitchen and toilet/shower facilities. Guests praise the friendly owners and the "glamping" feel. Minor issues include occasional road/train noise and the access track's condition, though many find these manageable. Improvements are ongoing.

Be nice to have a little shop on site to offer coffee etc
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A Really lovely shared kitchen area. & beautiful views. And great to be able to walk in the river and it be so private.2 of the Glamping toilet & shower were fab much more effective than the standard ones. Can see so much potential here after a bit more adding on little bits.
Disliked The grass isn't maintained it's full of prickles and not cut so it's tricky to enjoy the space to relax.
Showers need areas to put clothes and towels.
Hard to gain entry our camper van was the same width as the narrow lanes and the uneven ground was hard to drive on our vehicle.

From the manager: Hi Elliot, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review and for your lovely comments.
As we’re only in our second season, we’re constantly making improvements based on guest feedback, so we really appreciate your suggestions. A small honesty shop/coffee is something we’d love to add in the future. (Wish we had the funds to do now!)
Just to clarify, all of our shower cubicles do have hooks for towels and clothing, so we’re sorry if these were missed during your stay.
Regarding the grass, Wales is currently experiencing exceptionally dry conditions, so unfortunately the ground has become very dry and prickly. Cutting the grass during these conditions wouldn’t improve it and can actually cause further damage to the ground, so we’re waiting for conditions to improve before carrying out further mowing. As a working farm, we’re also having to be extremely mindful of water use during the current drought.
The access road is a traditional rural farm lane, and unfortunately the width of the lane and surrounding hedgerows are outside of our control.
Thanks again for your feedback. We really appreciate it and hope you’ll come back and see how Garth Glamping continues to grow and improve.

Great location. Site needs development. Has potential to be amazing.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Trains passing the site (not for everyone but I love a train!)
Site next to a river
Good toilet facilities
Disliked Site on rough ground. Access steep at points - our campervan only just made it out.
Separate washing/teeth cleaning facilities would be welcome. Cleaning teeth in a small toilet cubicle not ideal.

From the manager: Hi Helen, thank you for your review and kind comments about our riverside location and facilities.
As we’re only in our second season, we’re continually developing and improving the site. During your stay, Wales was experiencing exceptional drought conditions, so the ground was much drier and rougher than normal.
We also ask all guests to follow our 5mph speed limit, as taking it slowly makes access much easier on our rural farm tracks. We currently have three toilet rooms, all with sinks, mirrors and plenty of space for washing and cleaning teeth.
Thanks again for your feedback, we hope to welcome you back to see how Garth Glamping continues to grow.

Would be a 10 if not for the start of track into site.
Bell tent
Liked Everything lovely. Stayed in bell tent. Quiet enough to relax but lots of friendly families. Facilities were perfectly clean and in working order. Used the bbq and fireplace supplied. Enough wood supplied. Nice little stroll by the river. Lovely family owners.
Disliked Sadly need to report a dislike- Getting out of the site road is very unstable (sift ground and gravel) and I had to get help to get out its so steep. I think the site is still being developed and they are working on improvements. Hoping this will be sorted if we decide to stay again. Or if I get a 4x4

From the manager: Hi Emily, thank you for your lovely review and kind words about the site, facilities and our family, they really do mean a lot.
We’re sorry the access track affected your experience. During your stay, Wales was experiencing exceptional drought conditions, which made the ground much drier, looser and more unstable than usual. We’re continuing to improve the entrance as the site develops, and we hope to welcome you back in the future so you can see the progress we’ve made.

Disliked Needs a couple more mirrors in the showers and some sinks somewhere in the showers to brush teeth etc.

From the manager: Hey Pete! Thanks for your lovely review and feedback! Whilst I don’t think we’ll be adding any extra sinks we’ll certainly pop some more mirrors in the showers 😃
