On the hunt for something a little bit different for your North Wales break? Take a look at Faraway Follies – the individual units at this glampsite about 10 miles from Wrexham are packed with character as well as being well-equipped for comfortable stays.
This location is within the Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape, so it's a scenic spot, with lovely views to be had from all the units. That setting also means ample options for outdoor activities – hill walks, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and whitewater rafting are just a few of the ways you might like to fill your days around here.
And if you get a bit cold and/or damp while you're out and about – well, no need to worry, as you should be able to warm up easily enough once you’re back at base. Lighting the woodburning stove or firepit should do it, or perhaps settling in for a steamy soak in your own private hot tub? Guests can also book sessions in the on-site sauna (for an extra charge) – it makes a fantastic contrast to a dip in the freshwater 'Penguin Pool' if you’re brave enough.
Exactly what's provided for your stay varies from unit to unit (check the individual pitch types for details), but you can always expect comfy beds, your own bathroom and a mini kitchen (as well as that dreamy hot tub, of course). Bed linen, towels and firewood are provided to help minimise the amount of stuff you'll need to bring with you.

Amazing venue and outstanding hosts.
Copse Camp 2 bedroom treehouse (hot tub)
Liked Everything. The camp is out of this world and a dream for any family.
Very clean and welcoming. Hosts very good and guide to the camp and the local area was sent out before to help prepare.
On arrival, it was personalised to our family and dog. There was binging for a birthday and welcome gifts for the family and dog.

Local attractions
This part of North Wales is known for its outdoor activities, and you'll be well placed here. A good place to start is with a stroll from the site to Llandegla (three miles away) for cake at the community café. There are lots more trails around the National Landscape too, including the hike up Moel Famau (half an hour’s drive).
Llangollen (15 minutes' drive) is a great place for a wander as well – perhaps along the canal path or up the hill to Castell Dinas Brân (and in fact you can walk the seven-mile route from the site). For mountain bikers, the trails at OnePlanet Adventure (10 minutes) are top notch; watersports fans, you’ll want to try out the National White Water Centre (40 minutes).
For less hair-raising days, try the likes of the Ruthin Gaol Museum (20 minutes) or the National Trust sites at Chirk Castle and Erddig (both half an hour), or just plan a meal at one of the area’s rural pubs.
