Peaceful sunny evening
Tent pitches
Just a little nibble

  • Back-to-basics camping with Snowdonia views on the Isle of Anglesey
  • Rhosneigr, Aberffraw and Trearddur Bay beaches within 20 mins' drive
  • Flat pitches with room for kids to play; close to shops and pubs
Set in 16 acres of arable farmland on the north-west side of Anglesey, Pumllog Farm Campsite is a peaceful spot that may feel remote – but is actually only a 15-minute drive over the Britannia Bridge and down the A55 from mainland Wales. Turn up, pick your pitch (please keep a distance from other guests) on the flat, spacious camping field and then sit back to enjoy the spectacular views across to peaks in the Snowdonia National Park (40 minutes). This is an ideal base if you’re planning a bucket-and-spade break with the kids – the sandy expanses of Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr beach (also a good one if you’d like to test your windsurfing skills) are within a 20-minute drive. Aberffraw (15 minutes) and Newborough Forest (30 minutes) beaches both have undulating sand dunes for kids to run around on – and keep your eyes peeled at Newborough for elusive red squirrels. If you’d rather just flop into your camping chair and chill, well, that’s fine as Pumllog is full of wildlife. Birds of prey visit the fields along with pheasants, partridges and lots of rabbits. Bring a torch and you may even spot Mr Fox on his nocturnal ramblings. This is almost-wild camping, remember, so facilities are basic, but you'll have access to a portacabin with hot showers and toilets, all powered by gas and solar. Barbecues and off-ground firepits are permitted; you can pick up supplies at the local shop or stop for a beer and meal in the local pub. Llangefni (15 minutes' drive) is a handy nearby town for more extensive stocking up and eating out.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely peaceful site. Lovely clean spacious showers & toilets. 20 mins drive from local beaches. We only managed to stay one night as my husband had to go back to work, even though we had booked two night's. The owner was so helpful and only charged us for one night. Thanks again ☺️ Just a heads up for future campers. The pub that’s a short walk away from the site doesn’t do food. There is one that’s a 10 minute drive away though.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Great site, owner was lovely. Came on a busy bank holiday weekend and it wasn't too crowed, just right. Toilets and showers always clean. The site is in a great central location on Anglesey so you can go out for adventures. Also I've stayed on Anglesey sites many times and never had 5g reception on my phone apart from here! Definitely be coming again.

Disliked: Prices where a little steep

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review. I'm so sorry your tent got damaged in the high winds. It's been an awful summer for camping. I can say that we have only had 1 tent go down which is amazing considering the weather we've had. Hope you will come back and visit us again sometime. Norma 😊

From the manager: Thank you for your review, glad you like our site. The shower and toilet block are temporary until we can make changes and have a bigger block built. Due to demand for places to camp during the summer and busy weekends, it's a toss up between keeping numbers down or giving campers who desperately want to get out camping a pitch.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker)

Liked: Potentially quiet and undisturbed

Disliked: I returned from a day trip to find my tent was completely surrounded with other tents, so crowded in fact that the guy lines of my neighbouring tent were interlocked with mine. The woman in the tent actually came and said to me I’m sorry but we were told to pitch here, because we are here for five days and you are going soon, are you okay? I obviously wasn’t okay to have my space literally invaded. Also dogs were wandering free off leads, I noticed two separate faeces near the washing up area, with another dog coming into my tent as I was cooking food - neither are acceptable. I’m sorry, but I won’t be using this site again.

From the manager: The day you arrived we had a family medical emergency so i didn't actually get into the field until the evening. Everyone else was booked in apart from 2 pitches. I had 1 red tent with absolutely no idea which it belonged to. I checked again in the morning and still no one was at the tent. No one came back to that tent at anytime during the day and early evening. No one who owned that tent made any effort to contact me to let me know they had arrived or pay the balance for their stay. I was in my own right to remove the tent, which I didn't. When the family arrived who pitched next to you, the weather forecast was pretty terrible. I asked them to pitch in front of the shower block to give them protection from the wind. They decided to start pitching next to your tent. When I realised where they had decided to pitch, I did tell them it should be ok. Yes they did pitch a bit close, but then you had only booked a back packers pitch and taken up half another pitch and also not booked for arriving by car. To say you were surrounded by tents is totally untrue as the only tent close to you was that tent I mention. As for dogs running lose, it is against site rules but I can not police it 24/7. As for dog foul by the washing up area, I would have seen this myself as I am out cleaning through out the day. I am also sure a camper would have reported it to me. It would have been far kinder of you, to report your concerns to myself, rather than put an unjustly bad review on pitchup.

Liked: We came with our 2 year old daughter and also some friends. The campsite is small but perfect for us especially having a young child, was able to see her the whole time- she made lots of friends ❤️. Facilities are great- super clean toilet and shower block, washing station, drinking water. Norma was super friendly and helpful- always a text away if needed. The campsite is set in a lovely quiet location, easy to find and we will be back!
