Monty the Landy Forward Control on-site touring caravan (two person)

Liked: I recently spent several nights at Anglesey Transport Museum Glamping Holidays and found it to be a singularly unique and immersive experience. This site offers an innovative twist on traditional glamping, with the accommodations consisting of ex-military vehicles lovingly refurbished to provide home-like comfort, with the site itself offering shower and toilet facilities. Every vehicle is pristinely clean and comfortable, featuring cozy beds, a handy kitchen, and a comfortable seating area. The meticulous attention to detail in every corner added a special charm that enhanced the overall experience. Don't feel like cooking? Then don't! The on-site cafe offers a selection of hearty, fulfilling meals, irresistible cakes, and excellent coffee. It's a food lover's dream and very, very hard to resist! However, one of the standout feature that sets the site apart from any others is the attached transport museum. An automobile enthusiast's paradise, this museum offers an impressive collection of classic vehicles, tractors, a Landrover collection, and, even more military vehicles. Considering the number of exhibits and the quality of the collection, it represents excellent value for money and offers an enriching glimpse into automotive history. The staff's hospitality was another highlight of my stay. Their warm welcome and continuous attention ensured a personalized, enjoyable stay, making me feel thoroughly taken care of throughout my visit. Located in a tranquil area, the site showcases breathtaking views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains, and it's a stone's throw away from some of the area's best and cleanest beaches. Despite the variety of activities on offer, the site maintained a peaceful atmosphere, creating an ideal setting to relax, recharge, and energize. To anyone seeking a unique, relaxing glamping experience, or those with a passion for classic automobiles, Anglesey Transport Museum Glamping Holidays is a dream come true. It's not merely about staying in a uniquely outfitted vehicle; it's about indulging in the tranquility, taking in natural beauty, and embracing the local culture and history. This place offers a complete, well-rounded package that exceeds expectations. Highly recommended!

Local attractions

In addition to the vehicles that have been repurposed for glamping accommodation, the on-site museum has a great collection of vintage cars, motorbikes, farm vehicles, static engines and transport memorabilia, all of which is well worth a look. The museum is open daily between 10am and 5pm. In the immediate vicinity, Niwbwrch/Newborough has both a beach and a forest to explore; there's also the scenic Ynys Llanddwyn, an island that has been used in many films and TV shows. Watersports are another possible option, and there are lots of different companies in the surrounding area offering guided excursions and kit hire. Menai Bridge (20 minutes' drive) has a paddleboarding outfit that's well-reviewed, while sea kayakers can take to the waves at Newry Kayaking in Holyhead (half an hour). Thanks to its bridges, Anglesey is also within easy reach of attractions in mainland Wales, including the scenic seaside resort of Bangor (25 minutes), Caernarfon Castle (30 minutes) and the beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula (about an hour). It's also simple to set off for day trips to Snowdonia National Park to explore the peaks you can see from site (the edge of the park is about half an hour away).
