  • Peaceful Isle of Anglesey park 10 minutes’ stroll from Lligwy beach
  • Beaumaris Castle 25 minutes’ drive, Rhosneigr Beach 35 minutes
  • Family-friendly and dogs welcome; pubs and shops five minutes’ drive
When a relaxed break on Anglesey is what the doctor ordered, Tyn Rhos Caravan Park should do rather nicely. This rural and dog-friendly park really is a quiet spot tucked into leafy countryside, with no clubhouse, shop, restaurant or play area on site. However, children are welcome to stay, and you should find all the pubs, cafés and shops you need a handy five minutes’ drive away in Moelfre. It’s also only 10 minutes’ stroll from the sweeping stretches of Lligwy beach – known for its golden sands, scenic views and beach café. Luckily the beach is also open for your furry friends, so they can join in with a splash about in the waves. This caravan park beckons hikers to follow sections of the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, which passes close by. It’s also in pole position for jaunts to the island’s great heritage attractions like Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes’ drive), or indeed back across the Menai Straits for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in Eryri National Park (40 minutes). Practical facilities cover all the essentials: modern toilet and shower blocks (including one newly built for 2025; a small charge applies for hot showers), a washing-up room and laundry.

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful and spacious setting with a great location, a 10-minute walk from a dog-friendly beach and coastal paths. Visitors frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities including toilets and showers (though some mention the disabled facilities need updating), and well-equipped camp kitchen. While many enjoy the quiet atmosphere, some reviews mention noise from seasonal residents and suggest more toilets/showers are needed during busy periods. WiFi is available at a cost.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We liked/ loved everything, the site is so clean and tidy, the showers are hot with good pressure, the pitches are kept lovely. Wilson the site manager is very helpful!
We went while it was windy and raining… that still didn’t put us off.
Plenty of things to do nearby if you don’t fancy driving, fabulous walks with gorgeous views.
We would 100% come back to this campsite and we are!! See you next year!!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nice campsite to stay at, easy to walk to the beach with 2 great cafes to choice from.
Nice powerful shower.
polite and helpful staff at reception.
would stay again. we like Angelsey very much.

Disliked coin operation of showers, took a few attempts to get it working as had to really throw the coin in to get it to work. but once shower working nice and powerful, heating took some getting right. door handle to main door not good, whole door needs changing.
it was very windy when we came and the pitch we had was very open and with an awning was very nerve rocking.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Nice caravan park close to Lligwy beach, the old roundhouse village and one of the burial chambers.

staff were friendly and welcoming particularly the gentleman that helped us find our pitch.

We had to laugh as we missed the email telling us where to pay and he cheerfully fixed the problem and then the next day put up a sign.

Our stay was last minute so our pitch was an overspill tent area so not as flat and manicured as the rest but in some ways better as it was just a small area with two other families and the kids played together really nicely in our own little separate space.

Disliked the booking in was a little complicated but they were mid fixing that the next day.

Could do with an emergency items shop on site.
