  • Small and simple site in the grounds of an Anglesey B&B
  • Anglesey Transport Museum five minutes' drive; half an hour to Eryri
  • Bar and restaurant on site; easy access from the A4080
There’s so much to see and do on the Isle of Anglesey – but there’s also loads to see and do back in mainland north Wales. And that means the location of Taldrwst Campsite, over in the east of Anglesey in the village of Dwyran, a particularly excellent one. This site is just off the A4080 and about 15 minutes' drive from the bridges across the Menai Strait, so it should be nice and easy to get to whatever attraction or activity you've chosen for your day out. And it should be straightforward to get to the coast, too, as this site is just a couple of miles from Newborough beach and the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. That location means you’ll easily be able to find plenty to keep you busy during your break, whether you're planning to hit the beach, hike in Eryri (Snowdonia), visit the area's castles or find family-friendly attractions like Anglesey Transport Museum and Pili Palas Nature World. In the grounds of a family-run B&B, this is a quiet and fairly simple site that allows barbecues and has a dedicated toilet and shower block for campsite guests (opened for the 2025 season). It’s also got a real ace up its sleeve in the form of a bar and restaurant inside the B&B, where all guests are welcome to relax with a drink and a meal after their day out.

Liked Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed on a weekend, so the bar / restaurant was busy with live entertainment and bingo. This meant there was noise from the bar throughout the evening, but that was to be expected. This stopped promptly at 11pm and the bar closes earlier during the week. We didn't try the food, but it looked good and was reasonably priced. The showers and toilet blocks were in good order, heated and clean. WiFi was available in the b&b grounds but doesn't extend to the campsite, but thats camping. Great location for visiting the west coast of Anglesey. A little play area for kids would be great.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Location and use of facilities in Bed and Breakfast

Disliked Not disliked more constructive advice for new owners:
1. Toilet brushes in toilets needed
2. Hand dryer/paper towels
3.Waste disposal for toilets
4. Regular cleaning in toilets and showers
5. Floor Squeegy for showers
6. Slip mats for showers- Health and safety
7. Hooks to hang up towels.
8. Disability access for all bathroom facilities- needed by law
9. Hand rails
10. Dish washing facilities covered. Cleaned regularly.
11. Adequate waste disposal industrial recycle bins - Health & Safety requirement by law.

My advice would be to close the camping aspect of the business until the £25 a night charge for whats now more wild camping, can be substantiated.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Nice location. Warm welcome.

Disliked No hot water in showers on arrival.

Quickly addressed, however, insufficient hot water to shower effectively.
Only a total of 5 people on the site at the time of our stay, so dread to think how the system might cope with more staying.

The washing up facilities comprised one outdoor, uncovered sink area. I’m aware that the site is under new management, however it looked like the washing up area hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was a build up of filth on the bottom of the sink and draining area, so much so we couldn’t use the draining board, and stacked our things on the paving outside the showers instead.

We don’t like to leave negative reviews (but we trusted the many excellent reviews on Pitchup prior to booking), but we were very disappointed for the price paid, and feel that the site shouldn’t have been taking bookings while things weren’t up to scratch (or at least clean).
