People having a nice time

  • Sea-view pitches on a private estate on the north coast of Anglesey
  • Five minutes’ drive to Porth Trwyn beach; Holyhead 20 minutes
  • Near the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path; half an hour's walk from pubs
Set in the woodland of a private 17th-century estate, Seren-y-Mor (meaning 'Star of the Sea') is a family-run campsite on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the beach for family fun days and also close to the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path for coastal yomps. Bring your own barbecues, camping stoves and firepits (pick up groceries in Holyhead, 20 minutes’ drive). A couple of pubs are a half hour’s walk away if alfresco cooking isn’t how you want to spend your holiday. The pub and café in Church Bay should be some splendid picks for eating out – they're a five-minute drive away, or just over an hour's walk. Pop-up food stands also visit the site during high season. Seren-y-Mor is an eco campsite with composting toilets and hot showers.

What customers say

A beautiful, peaceful, and spacious eco-friendly campsite with stunning sea views and abundant wildlife. Guests praise the friendly and helpful owners, the eco-friendly facilities including compost toilets and warm showers, and the freedom to choose pitches. Located near lovely beaches with ample walking opportunities. Some visitors noted the basic nature of the facilities and the bumpy access track, but overall, it's highly recommended for a relaxed, back-to-nature getaway.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Amazing quiet peaceful location. Loads of room. It’s like camping on a national trust park. Forest school nearby and the woods were cool to walk through. Loved the walk to church bay. Toilets were eco - so yiu need to chuck a cup of sawdust on your poop but they were nice and clean. Didn’t try the showers but they looked basic but clean.

I loved it. Sure not everyone would but this was ideal for me. Lovely area. Nice pitches. Loads of space. Beautiful starry nights.

Disliked All good for me.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Uncrowded with lots of open space, lovely views, a nice walk to the beach, woodlands, wild areas, historic ruins, quiet family friendly, basic facilities and no more. Laissez fair approach of the management who were there if you needed them but not in your face.

Disliked Sawdust ran out in compost toilet not replaced by the next morning.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked What a little slice of heaven. We absolutely loved our stay. We were lucky enough to stay when the hosts had an Open House and so got to explore the magnificent Estate. Loved the Walled Garden Cafe, the most helpful hosts and the 'back to nature' aspects of this spot. Extraordinary value for money. Left feeling full of gratitude after a great reset.

Liked The site location with great views out to sea for sunset. The toilets and showers were exactly what you need, always had hot water for the shower and toilet roll in the toilets.
Access to the forest school area, surrounding woodlands and estate grounds was great for dog walking and letting the little kids explore.
Overall a brilliant site for families who love the outdoors.

Disliked Nothing.

Once you enter the estate, you will cross over two cattle grids. After crossing the second cattle grid, there is a left-hand turning marked 'CAMPING'. Follow the signs on the track through two fields. The final field is the camping field, where the toilets are directly ahead of you. Please pitch up in these fields along the hedge or the treeline, where it is sheltered, leaving eight metres between your pitch and other guests. What3words: clip.relief.abode.

Local attractions

You can learn all about Amlwch and its 18th-century transition from fishing village to copper mining town at the Copper Kingdom Centre (25 minutes’ drive). After checking out the displays, stroll along the colourful trails lacing Parys Mountain, which was once home to the world’s largest copper mine. Step into a tropical environment at Pili Palas Nature World (half an hour). Here you can marvel at butterflies and moths flying all around you in the butterfly house, watch meerkats being fed and meet colourful macaws and cockatoos. There are also exotic spiders and lizards, and (if creepy-crawlies aren’t your thing) fluffy rabbits and inquisitive miniature goats. Sitting on the Menai Strait, Plas Newydd House and Gardens (35 minutes) is an 18th-century mansion with gardens bursting with vibrant hydrangeas and rhododendrons. It’s worth popping inside too, to catch a glimpse of a gigantic mural (measuring 17.5 metres) by Rex Whistler depicting an idealised view from the building.
