  • Dog-friendly Anglesey pop-up site with views of the sea and Snowdonia
  • Walking distance from beaches, the coastal path and summit trails
  • Walk to the pub, seafood restaurant and café; shops a short drive out
Wake up and walk the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, or perhaps challenge yourself to a local hill summit. Based on the northwest coast of Anglesey, you’ll have lots of choice over how to spend your time from Llain Ffynnon Camping. A morning brew over the site's sea views? Taking the 15-minute walk down the closest beach for a quick dip in the sea? Or perhaps you’d rather go for a dog walk towards the mountains (after all, dogs are welcome here too). You’ll need a good pair of shoes, that’s for sure. One of the big perks of this site is that it’s easy to get to many places on foot. The local pub in Church Bay is only half an hour’s walk away. It’s also on the way to the rockpools at Porth Swtan beach (40 minutes’ walk) or the seafood restaurant and café close to the shore. You’ll get an idea of the splendid walks around these parts just from glancing at the views from this site. Based quite high up, Llain Ffynnon Camping doesn’t just have views over the northwest coast – you'll catch Snowdonia's mountains, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the northwest of England on a clear day too. The site is only a short walk from access points to several well-maintained public footpaths, including one with access to the Mynydd y Garn summit. If you need to pack some snacks and sandwiches before you go, there are two local food shops in Llanfaethlu or Tregele, 10 minutes’ drive from the site. Once you're back at base, make use of the hot shower and toilet facilities available to freshen up again.

What customers say

A beautifully located, peaceful campsite with spacious pitches and stunning panoramic sea views, including sunsets. Owners are consistently described as exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive, ensuring facilities are kept immaculately clean. While basic, the toilets and showers are well-maintained. The site offers freedom to pitch anywhere, good value for money, and is ideal for those seeking a relaxing, back-to-basics getaway with excellent access to coastal walks. Some guests mentioned it can be windy due to its elevated position.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful space that feels wild and still has the basics of a loo and sink. Stunning views of the sea and plenty to do nearby for a weekend. Even though it was busy the site is large enough to not feel like you’re too close to other campers. Friendly owners, easy to pay on arrival, around to help if you need them, and even lent people fire pits. Will definitely go back here again. Lovely beaches and cafes near by too - though more of a long walk or drive in hot weather. The site had good mobile signal as well (not that we used it!).

Disliked We used a tent box and found the site windy in summer. Would be less likely to come here on windy days in a tent box as quite exposed to sea breeze in several directions.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Beautiful views across surrounding countryside to the sea. Very welcoming and friendly owners who did a fantastic job keeping facilities fresh and clean (particularly with influx of weekend campers on the Friday afternoon!). Relaxed stay, with plenty of space - basic facilities but perfectly adequate and well looked after, with a free hot shower!

Disliked Low water pressure was a small nuisance during our stay (some taps stopped working) but expect will be resolved next time we visit 🙂

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The amazing views. The remoteness and general zen vibe. Church Bay Arms also surrounded by loveliness with stunning gardens. Beach and Bay idyllic. Dogs allowed all year.
Family site owners very accommodating and friendly.

Disliked The wind could have been a little kinder but to be expected.

Non-electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked The view. Freedom to pitch where you want. Friendly owners. Clean and well kept. Pretty basic site reflected in price..

Disliked Definitely not a 15 minute walk to the beach. No escape from the wind. No hot water except for 1 shower which was dangerously hot with a note not to change settings. Not near enough for beach or any shop for provisions but church bay was beautiful . However had to take van and the road to the bay was perilous. Only 1 restaurant there and had to book

Liked Loved this camp site! Huge so we had so much space around us (felt like we had the field to ourselves). You can pick wherever you want to park up so we got to pick a spot that had beautiful field views one side then the sea and lighthouse on the other for such a beautiful sunset view from our van.

Disliked The water did stop working for a period of time so the toilets wouldn't flush and you couldn't wash your hands but I think this was just for a short period of time and didn't bother us personally when the views were so incredible for the price.

Local attractions

You might first spot the Goleudŷ Ynysoedd y Moelrhoniaid (The Skerries Lighthouse) from the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. Up close, after a chartered boat ride from Holyhead (25 minutes’ drive), the view is even better, and the birdwatching just as splendid. The seabird colony at Cemlyn North Wales Wildlife Trust Reserve (10 minutes’ drive) is pretty spectacular to watch too. A shingle ridge, lagoon and plants such as sea kale and sea campion are part of the highlight reel at this place – just the thing if you're a fan of spying on wildlife. Those of you who are planning on spending a lot of your downtime beside the sea will be happy to find that there are a number of beaches that are easy to get to from Llain Ffynnon Camping. In fact, the National Trust’s Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn is half an hour’s walk away, and there are caves and rockpools to rummage around down there. Further out, other gorgeous beach locations include Cemlyn Bay (15 minutes’ drive), Porth Trwyn (10 minutes) and Traeth Porth Wen Beach (15 minutes).
