  • Well-maintained, quiet site five minutes' drive from Moelfre
  • Traeth Bychan, Lligwy and Benllech within five minutes' drive
  • Dog-friendly pitches among woods at the foot of Bodafon Mountain
In between Bodafon Mountain and Moelfre is a great location for an Anglesey holiday – so it’s handy that this exact spot is occupied by Tyddyn Dedwydd Caravan Site. That location puts this small family-run site within easy reach of walking trails, beach days and plenty of useful amenities including a village shop, pub and café (all of which are down in Moelfre, five minutes’ drive away). There’s a pebble beach in the village too, and a sandy stretch over at Traeth Bychan (also five minutes), where you can rent kayaks and paddleboards or hang out at the café. The site is surrounded by woodlands, so there will be plenty of scope for walking the family dog if they’re tagging along on your break (and they’re welcome to do so as long as they’re kept on a lead while on site). Those woods also create a quiet rural vibe on site, which is further boosted by a ‘no loud music’ rule so everyone can enjoy a bit of peace. Everything is set up to make life nice and easy at this site – each pitch has an electric hook-up and water supply, and there’s access to toilets and showers. You’ll be allowed to bring along a barbecue to do your meals if you like too.

What customers say

This is a small, quiet, and friendly family-run site in a beautiful location, praised for its exceptionally clean facilities, particularly the hot and powerful showers. Pitches are generally level and well-spaced. Owners are frequently highlighted as welcoming and helpful, offering advice on local attractions. While the site is well-maintained, some visitors found the unisex facilities slightly awkward, and a few noted it can be a drive to shops and pubs. A small number of reviews mentioned pitches being too small or the site being overpriced.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Good WiFi in front of main house.

Disliked The unisex Toilet and shower block, pot wash area were not clean, as stated to be in the information.
No one to see on arrival, I believe owner was away.
Pitches too tight and too expensive for what there is ……. Which is nothing.
No TV signal either.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback, the owner was there to greet you and i also came home at your arrival time, the toiles and washing up area are cleaned everyday, unfortunately we cant clean it after each person uses them but we do try and keep on top of it, as for tv signal that is out of our control, we have no issues in the house or in the static caravan with just an aerial.
Thanks for letting us no.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked We stayed one night at this lovely campsite. The site was clean and tidy and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

Disliked We would have liked to walk to moelfre and the local area however the fast road put us off as there was no pavement or walkways. After speaking to the owner we discovered there was an alternative route via the woods but it was too late so a bit more information would be nice. Also if you were returning in the dark it wouldn't be an option.
Also I'd suggest getting there handy. As there are limited spaces you may end up by the binsheds which isn't great.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Warm welcome from Caroline and her Mum.

Fantastic showers (really hot and a proper flow of water, not like the trickle you get in some, and massive shower cubicles too!).

Clean toilets & washing up facilities.

Peace & quiet - great to hear families and dogs having fun, but also great to hear the wildlife in between.
Other campers were all really friendly - including the seasonal guests.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Lovely peaceful campsite for touring caravans / motorhomes/ campervans. Each pitch has its own fresh water tap! Fairly small site (which I prefer). Nice flat pitches. Helpful + friendly site managers/ owners. Spotlessly clean washrooms. Showers work well, shower cubicles spacious, and have enough hooks + a small bench. The washrooms are unisex but obviously the toilets and showers are in cubicles, its only at the sinks you'd see another person, so it didn't bother me at all. The site is just off a lovely tree lined little country road, and there are hedges and trees on the site. I enjoyed listening to the birds singing. Less than 10 minute drive to Benllech (handy for shops etc and also a nice beach!).

Disliked Not a site with scenic views. This doesn't bother me as I spend most of the day out and about. Its still a nice place to stay, and to sit out.

Local attractions

It’s highly likely that you’ll want to start with a few beach days around here – maybe trying out the watersports at Traeth Bychan (five minutes’ drive) or strolling through the dunes to the sands at Lligwy beach (five minutes). Other options might include outings to Benllech (five minutes), Rhosneigr (half an hour) or Newborough (half an hour), where you can walk through the forest to atmospheric Llanddwyn Island. Staying inland, you’ll be able to walk straight from the site up to Bodafon Mountain, the highest peak on the island (although still eminently achievable at 178 metres). There are more excellent walks at Parys Mountain (15 minutes), an old mining area where work revealed all sorts of colours in the landscape. From this site you’ll also be able to get out to some of Anglesey’s top spots easily enough – perhaps heading to Beaumaris Castle (20 minutes) or Plas Newydd House and Gardens (25 minutes) before taking in sunset at South Stack Lighthouse (45 minutes).
