  • Quiet family-friendly site with spectacular Irish Sea views in Gwynedd
  • Access to Llŷn Coastal Path; Eryri National Park 45 minutes’ drive
  • Private pebble beach within walking distance; pub five minutes’ drive
There’s rural and there’s really rural. Pant Gwyn Farm comes under the latter category. Set on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales, this site on a working cattle and sheep farm has far-reaching mountain and Irish Sea views from its clifftop pitches – on a clear day, you can glimpse Ireland on the horizon – and from the headland, you can scramble down to a private shingle beach. Miles of walks lead off in all directions, so bring dogs to share your Gwynedd adventure, and perhaps hike sections of the Llŷn Coastal Path directly from the site. This remote spot is so peaceful that all you can hear is cows, sheep and birdsong, and on clear evenings you can expect spectacular sunsets over the sea. There's a small shop five minutes’ drive away in Tudweiliog, so it’s best to come well prepared with good provisions to cover your stay. The village also has a pub; more are within about 10 minutes’ drive of the site, so you’ll certainly never go hungry. Simple campsite facilities include a shower block and modern loos, as well as two washing machines, a fridge and washing-up facilities.

What customers say

This farm campsite boasts stunning coastal views and direct access to the Wales Coastal Path. Visitors praise the friendly, helpful owners and the spacious, clean pitches. Facilities include toilets, showers (at extra cost), and a utility room with a fridge/freezer. While the "back to nature" feel is appreciated, some guests note the facilities can be basic and occasionally busy during peak times, with occasional sheep poo present. No WiFi is available.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely clean site with access to utilities (washer and dryer for extra cost paying by coin) fridge freezer available.

The showers are an extra cost at £1 for 5 minutes which is a shame but we appreciated the cleanliness of them and also the availability. There were zero queues! We paid for electric this time and would have like to have known that the best view is non electric across the field but really enjoyed and had a great scramble down to the beach which is accessed over the field on camp.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Brilliant location, views are amazing! Owner is kind and the site has a homely feel to it. Facilities are clean and the owner works hard to keep it that way. Plenty of space for everyone (cant say what summer hols would be like). A great location for a good walk if thats your thing. We are a family of 5 who like to get out and do a bit of walking and this location is perfect with access straight to the coastal path. Its quiet and a little isolated so if your looking for internet to stay connected this may not be the site for you. But if you want a relaxing, perfect family camping holiday this is perfect for you! We loved this gem of a find and will be returning. Thank you

Electric grass pitch

Liked Absolutely beautiful location, right on the beach, with a bit of a scramble down to it... good facilities, but no wifi which was fine.

Disliked Generally I loved everything about this site. I like to setup my camp and then go walking and I didn't think there was much around to walk to, but I could be wrong. A day on the beach was lovely though and the dogs loved the sea.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Amazing site. Great views. Lovely facilities. Access to the shingle beach. Not overly crowded. Clean showers and toilets. Washing up facilities. Friendly hosts. Farm surroundings. Local area. No single sex groups and parties. Animal noise to serenade us to sleep.

Disliked Nothing disliked. Would be a luxury to have water faucets nearer the electric hook ups but that's a me problem as I'm lazy haha

Electric grass pitch

Liked The site had gorgeous views
Had all the basics you would need toilet, space to wash up, showers (you need change for these)
Not over crowded
Space to play in line of sight for the kids

Disliked Unfortunately the tent behind us kept us awake until 1:30am. It wasn’t a party just a very loud family then the neighbours dogs woke us at 6 by going crazy … it was just unfortunate (nothing the owner could do)
and just to stay we absolutely would stay again

Electric grass pitch

Liked This is a back to nature site, on a working farm. Farmer very friendly & helpful. We had a choice of pitches. Facilities were a little rustic but functional & clean. Only 2 shower rooms so got rather busy when site filled up. Beautiful scenery of Llyn peninsula coast line. Easy access to the coastal path, beautiful long walk to The Ty Coch Inn. We caught the bus back!

Disliked The sheep poo!

Local attractions

When it comes to beaches, you can take your pick of a fair few. Sandy Porth Towyn Tudweiliog (five minutes’ drive) is something of a local secret, while Porth Ysgaden (10 minutes) is popular for paddleboarding and snorkelling around its craggy bay. You can take the kids rock pooling on the expanse at Traeth Penllech (15 minutes), or swim in shallow waters off the sweeping crescent at Porth Neigwl (20 minutes). All the climbing, hiking and cycling opportunities in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park are but 45 minutes’ drive away (the summit of Sundown can be spotted from the camping fields), but if the kids get fractious on car journeys, there are also family-friendly walks and bike rides to be had closer to home base in untamed Llŷn National Landscape (15 minutes). Take a deep dive into the history of North Wales with a visit to one (or indeed, all) of the landmark castles at Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Penrhyn, Cricceith or Harlech (all within an hour’s dive). After all that culture, reward the kids with an afternoon splashing around on the inflatable climbing course at Glasfryn Parc (25 minutes).
