Pitches on the site

  • Quiet coastal campsite on the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula
  • A 10-minute drive from Abersoch; Pwllheli 20 minutes
  • Views over Cardigan Bay and direct access to the Wales Coast Path
For a low-key coastal site on the Llŷn Peninsula with spectacular views over Cardigan Bay, have a look at Cim Farm Caravan Park. There's direct access to the Wales Coast Path here, making this spot a top stop-over site for walkers and backpackers, plus a circular walk on the farm for those who are settling down for longer spells. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead to avoid spooking the sheep and cows that live in the neighbouring fields. The farm is on the edge of the village of Bwlchtocyn and about a mile from a café and sandy Machroes beach. A short distance further along the coast is Abersoch (10 minutes' drive), where there's a golf club, surf shops, a sailing school and a supermarket. Facilities on site include well-maintained toilets, hot showers (handy to have after dips in the sea), a playground, a laundry room and a freezer for ice packs. This site is high up and open to the elements, meaning it has fantastic views over to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park and makes a great place to fly a kite. After 10pm, it's quiet time, and all music must be paused.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked The site hosts were absolutely lovely and couldnt do enough to help. Lovely size for the kids to play and make friends without worrying they had gone to far and everyone went quiet at 10pm which was perfect (people were still talking quietly but thats to be expected on a campsite). They did also like the park there, spent a good while playing on it with the friends they had made. Bathrooms were cleaned constantly and the showers were nice and warm. Lovely location about a 40 min walk to Abersoch and a beautiful beach was located within a 30 minute walk (this is taking walking with young children into account). Definitely would stay here again!

Disliked The only thing I would say is that the bathrooms could do with an update but they were cleaned constantly so were nice and clean.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely site, well maintained large pitches. Facilities were clean and staff really friendly.

Disliked Some of the roads leading up to the site are single track and when you are towing a caravan or even just driving a large car can be quite tricky if you meet another vehicle coming the other way.

Non-electric grass campervan or tent pitch

Liked Superb site. Really clean and well maintained. Gorgeous views from pretty much everywhere, lovely walks straight from site to two beaches. Lovely staff too - really helpful and friendly.
Food vans were there two nights during our stay with smash burgers and wood fired pizzas! We shall be back!

Disliked Shower cubicles are a bit on the tight side, but definitely workable.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The views and the location were lovely. Burgers van and pizza van on site was nice and about half hour walk to each each. Owners moved out pitch when I said our doggy was a bit reactive and we appreciated this.

Disliked The cleanliness of the bathrooms were not great. Also the noise from other campers past 10pm. Children running round wild and people slamming car boots/doors. WiFi did not work which wasn't a bother for us adults.

Local attractions

In the immediate surrounding area, there's Abersoch Golf Club (10 minutes' drive) if you fancy a game or two with sea views, plus top-rated local beaches for swimming, watersports and picnics like Porth Ceiriad (10 minutes) and Porth Neigwl (10 minutes), the second of which is renowned for its favourable surfing conditions. Many of these can be comfortably reached on foot via the Wales Coast Path. A little further along the peninsula, you'll come to Pwllheli, a harbour town with an attractive marina that's well worth a visit. Heading in the other direction, Criccieth Castle (30 minutes) has turrets and towers that are hard to beat – although Harlech's imposing coastal fortress (an hour) certainly gives it a run for its money. For more family-friendly days out, head to the pretty Italian-style coloured houses and cafés at Portmeirion (30 minutes), or venture out into Snowdonia National Park for mountain peaks, lakeside walks or to experience the zipwires, woodland rollercoasters and other exhilarating rides at Zip World Fforest near Betws-y-Coed (an hour and 15 minutes).
