  • Friendly family-run Llŷn Peninsula site five minutes' drive from Nefyn
  • Tŷ Coch Inn 10 minutes' drive; 20 minutes to Pwllheli
  • Bar and play area on site, plus accessible bathrooms
There’s a real history at Parc Gwynus, a friendly Llŷn Peninsula site about five minutes’ drive from Nefyn. So much so, in fact, that you can still see visible remnants of a Bronze Age settlement here as well as a farmhouse that dates back to the mid-17th century. The family that now run the site also have quite the history – they’ve been here since 1936, passing the property down through the generations to the current owners. And you can see why they’d choose to settle in this peaceful spot and not leave: it’s surrounded by green views and looks out towards the Irish Sea in the background too. You can get to the village easily enough for a shop or a meal, and there are lots of great beaches, walks and historic attractions close by as well. And did you notice the views towards Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park? It’s about a half-hour drive away and packed with wonderful outdoor activities. The famed Tŷ Coch Inn, right on the beach, is about 10 minutes’ drive from here – but if you don’t fancy going that far for a drink it’s handy to know the site has its own little bar, serving up a range of drinks (including Welsh beers and spirits) and snacks. Other facilities on site include a play area, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with wheelchair-accessible facilities. It’s a pretty laidback place here, so feel free to bring your kids, dogs and pals along – along with all the bits you’ll need for campfire or barbecue evenings.

What customers say

This is a family-friendly site in a quiet location, praised for its friendly owners, clean facilities, and good value. Guests enjoyed the on-site bar, farm animals, and play area. Some visitors found the tent field sloped, shower facilities basic with limited hot water, and the bar's opening times inconsistent. A few reviews mentioned entitlement from long-term residents and their children. Access can be tricky, and some found the ground hard for pitching tents. The manager has noted feedback regarding signage and fire pits.

Wild meadow camping non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Well sign posted, everything as expected. Went as a last minute single night away for our 1 year anniversary. Wild camping. Seperate parking to camping but you can stop by the field gate to unload before parking up less than 100 yards from field. Toilet block was clean and well kept from what I saw of the ladies side. Small, owner run bar with very reasonable prices with bench area to chat to other holiday makers. Only 20 mins from Criccieth, less than that to Pwllheli and Porthmadog. Lovely scenery.

Disliked Nothing.

Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Location

Disliked Sorry showers, if more than 1 person showering it came out as dribble.
Was just a bit unloved and pitch was not kept well..
Other permanent residents working on jetski in the evening revving engine for an hour..

Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Quiet clean Site, they were helpful, large pitch. Bar onsite but we didn't use it.

Disliked Toilet and chemical/grey waste was quite far from the pitch, Pitchup states 16 amp electric but ours tripped and we had to set it to 10amp. Kids were playing football on the field and our caravan was hit by the ball.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great site with fantastic prices. Shower block is very clean with other toilets available elsewhere on site. Laundrette on site with washing up facilities.
Play area for kids with trampoline entertains the children for hours every day. Situated in a stunning location with views over to both sides of the peninsula on entry. We have been twice in a month will certainly return as regular users.

Disliked The only thing that we have noticed which we weren’t keen on was the caravans on site seem to be mostly permanent pitches and some of the owners come across quite entitled. Parking their car very close to the entry of our tent for example when they have ample parking facilities next to their caravan. We understand that these people pay a lot of money but tent users are still paying guests to the site. Other than this everything about this site is spot on.

Liked Lots of space. Fire pits allowed.

Disliked £10 a night for electricity when you're in a campervan.
No walks from the site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Susan, we charge for the electric hook up because we charge so little for the pitch itself in comparison to there sites around Penllyn.

In regards to 'no walks from the site', we are located a 10 minute walk from the Wales coastal path, there's also a walk directly around the back of the campsite and a short walk from a Celtic village site up Tre Ceiri.
