  • Comfortable bell tent with Eryri National Park views in Gwynedd
  • Cader Idris 10 minutes’ drive; Barmouth Beach 20 minutes
  • Bedding and welcome pack supplied; private-use firepit
No point in roughing it when you’re staying amid the spectacular mountainous countryside of Gwynedd, is there? So bed down in a luxurious Luna bell tent at Glamping at Fronalchen Caravan Park, five minutes’ drive from the lively restaurants, bars and local shops at Dolgellau in the scenic Eryri National Park (formerly Snowdonia). Inside the spacious tent, all linens are provided for both bed and sofa bed – which doubles as a cosy settee during the day. There’s bags of storage and lots of thoughtful touches like welcome packs of local produce. Planters and lanterns decorate the exterior of the tent, where you have your own private-use picnic table and firepit so you can cosy up and watch the sunset on clear evenings. A short walk away, showers and loos are shared with the caravan park. If you need a shot of caffeine to get going in the morning, there’s a coffee shop outside the site entrance, and you can restock supplies of basics at the local garage (five minutes’ walk).

Bell tent

Liked: Absolutely amazing place and owners/hosts!! The location and views are breath-taking and the experience we had was beyond our expectations! The hosts were the friendliest I had ever encountered. Went above and beyond for our comfort and happiness. Even in rainy weather, recommend staying here for a final day of rest. Glamping was extraordinary, host was beyond welcoming! Facilities were very clean and tidy. Would recommend glamping and even tenting with family, or friends. Thank you for our lovely stay!!

Disliked: Just wished we stayed longer than two days!

Bell tent

Liked: Our host made us feel welcome from the start. We received a lovely welcome pack inside the tent, including drinks for the adults and sweets for the kids. Our children loved the space, especially the luna tent when it all lit up at night with fairy lights. The area is absolutely beautiful and extremely peaceful. We all had a comfortable sleep and woke up to the sounds of nature. We will definitely be returning here.
