Electric grass pitch

Liked: Staff were super friendly, toilets were kept very clean and showers in the shepherd like it’s were really hot. Loved the wet room style. Views were amazing. We loved the little dog walk on site that follows the river, very peaceful. Great to have fire pits on a site like this and rental charges and wood were very reasonable.

Disliked: Would be even better if we could select the pitch on arrival as we were near the park which was very noisy and as we didn’t have young children it wasn’t the best location for us. This is a small dislike as site was fantastic.

Fully-serviced grass pitch

Liked: Location was great, peaceful and scenic. The staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. Facilities were clean and enough to not need to que too long. The pitch itself was lovely and flat/level with gard enough ground to hold a peg well (hammer/ mallet recommend) We would absolutely stay here again.

Disliked: Lots of migies at night being close to a beautiful river (good and bad) . Nothing else to complain about.

Fully-serviced grass pitch

Liked: A clear pitch for the motorhome with EHU and Water. Nearby toilet/shower. Play area for children in sight of our pitch. We didn’t explore but there is laundry, games room and shop available. The sight was quiet from 10pm and we slept well. The scenery is lovely.

Disliked: A separate shower from the toilet would suit us. This might be available at another part of the site that we didn’t explore.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely clean site and very well maintained. Staff were always on hand to help and were always about.

Disliked: A little loud of an evening due to kids playing on the park until gone 11pm, maybe a quiet time restriction needed to be put in place.

Local attractions

Legend says Gelert, a hound belonging to a Welsh prince, is buried in Beddgelert (15 minutes’ drive). Visit the grave, take in the views from the Aberglaslyn Pass (15 minutes) and then visit the Sygun Copper Mine (20 minutes) to learn more about the conditions in 19th-century mines. Adventurous types can tackle the fastest zipwire in the world at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (half an hour). With underground trampolines based in slate caverns, you’re likely to work up a sweat. GreenWood Family Park (20 minutes) has traditional rides, including family-friendly rollercoasters. Where next? Perhaps Caernarfon Airport (25 minutes), where there’s an aviation museum and pleasure flights along the Menai Strait and around Snowdon? Portmeirion (35 minutes), an Italianate village featured on the telly? Or Llanberis (20 minutes), where the mountain railway departs? Llanberis is close to the National Slate Museum (20 minutes), which has the largest working water wheel in Britain.
