  • Peaceful dog-friendly site with views of Eryri (Snowdonia)
  • On the banks of the river Gwyrfai; a 10 minute-drive from Caernarfon
  • Walking routes directly from the site; playground and games room
Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Loved how clean it was
All the staff were so friendly and you could tell they actually enjoyed working at the campsite
Tipsy trailer was a great addition
Ice cream van that came right outside your tent also!
And then the views were stunning
We had such a good time and will definitely be on the list to return

Disliked We were camping on field 6 and behind the hedges, near the path to go to the stream (on a different field) there was a family who I believe stayed there quite often in their caravan and they was so so loud at night and quite late on into the night too. We didn’t hear anyone tell them to quieten down even though the rules say quiet time should be from 9pm I believe? Tbf we didn’t complain either so can’t blame the staff but just an FYI if you are on field 6 near the hedges you may be up all night listening to them

Owain shepherd's hut (pet friendly)

Liked Beautiful setting in Snowdonia with a fresh water stream running through the campsite. Many amenities provided such as a BBQ area beside the stream and a walking circular route great for on site exercise. Whole campus managed to a very high standard with toilet and waste facilities cleaned daily and well stocked. Staff were very friendly and enquired if my stay went well. WIFI provided.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Friendly staff, was a bit confused following where the pitch was but it all made sense eventually, put it down to tiredness, the site was much larger than expected! Very well kept site, clean and very large showers lots of hot water, toilets were very clean. Plenty of water points and disposal areas. A brilliant dog 🐕 walking area one of the best l’ve seen, our b/collie loved his stay here plenty of walks straight from site. Not too far from Porthmadog 30 min drive, where there’s everything you need. Really enjoyed our stay 👍

Fully-serviced grass pitch

Liked It was really easy to book and great communication from the staff. We got stuck in traffic on the way there and were worried we would be late so I emailed them and got a fast response. We had a fully serviced pitch for our large tent. The pitches are really spacious and the site overall is really fantastic. It’s a great location and the views were spectacular! We were in field 3 and were close to a lovely spot of river, great for paddling and escaping the sun (it was 30 degrees this weekend) as it’s slightly shaded with trees. Even though it was busy it wasn’t overly noisy. There were plenty of children and our 6 year old made new friends on the little play park behind our tent. Overall, a fantastic stay and will definitely be back!
