What customers say

This is a clean, well-maintained campsite in a beautiful location with stunning views, just a short drive from Bala Lake. Visitors praise the spacious, level pitches and the immaculately clean toilet and shower facilities. Staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The site is family-friendly, with a play area and alpacas to feed. While some minor points were raised about shower facilities and the on-site shop hours, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Toilets and showers were kept immaculate never once smelt horrible.

On site shop had a good selection of emergency camping gear.

Pitch was not muddy and the field was very clean

Pitch lines were clear plenty of space to camp happy.

The lady who runs the site was ever so helpful and polite

Alpacas were a lovely sight to see everyday

Gorgeous scenery

Disliked Lighting in showers and toilets could be improved, having said that it wouldn’t stop us booking again.

Would be nice for children to have more to do in the park area swings got very crouded I went with my niece and she found the park was difficult for her as other children were always hoarding it.

Option to a rent a fire pit from the shop rather than bringing one with us :)

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked I stayed at the campsite with my partner, 2 children and 2 dogs. The area was lovely, only 6 minutes from Bala town and lake and 2 minutes walk from the river Dee. The campsite itself was very well maintained and had a lovely family atmosphere. Elin was lovely and helpful throughout our stay and having alpacas to feed at the top of the campsite was bonus. We will definitely be staying again and would recommend.

Disliked I can't think of anything we disliked. We enjoyed everything.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Clean, quiet, family friendly, lovely location. Perfectly maintained and level pitches with a water point on every pitch. Pizza night on Sundays. Small shop and laundrette on site. Elin (manager/owner) is lovely as well.

45 minutes to Barmouth, just under an hour to Porthmdog. Betws Y Coed only 30 minutes. Bala town itself is only 5 minutes in the car.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Big level pitches with super clean facilities. Nice and quiet which is great. Swings in the middle kept the little one busy and also was a place for her to meet other kids and play. Bonus of the alpacas that you could feed which was. Wifi was good too.

Local attractions

The National White Water Centre (15 minutes’ drive) is the place for high-octane aquatic adventures on the River Tryweryn – from guided rafting excursions and canyoning, to extreme independent sessions (for experienced rafters only). The industrial heritage of North Wales comes alive at Zip World Llechwedd (40 minutes) with guided tours of the former mines, where you can also have a subterranean round of miniature golf. If you’re after the sweet kick of adrenaline, there are also thrilling rides like the Titan zipline, which will have you flying above the area’s distinctive slate landscape. It’s a much gentler vibe at Betws-y-Coed (45 minutes), a pretty village stretching between the rivers Conwy and Llugwy, with pretty woodland walks (including the family-friendly Tan Dinas Path) leading to stone bridges and waterfalls like Rhaeadr Ewynnol / Swallow Falls.
