When a business has been running since 1962, you know they have to be doing something right. Or, in the case of Fron Farm Caravan and Camping Park, quite a lot of things… The Roberts family have been running this Flintshire site for several decades now, and over that time it’s developed into a popular spot for a North Wales holiday. It helps that the location is an excellent one, of course, in a rural area with lovely views of the mountains of the Clwydian Range, and the lively market town of Mold 10 minutes’ drive away. Plenty more attractions are close by, too, in an area that can rightly be described as having something for everyone. Moel Famau is 10 minutes’ drive away for hardcore hikers, with country parks also on hand for gentler walks. Castles, a steam railway and other heritage attractions are scattered around, and you can also spend the day on a sandy beach or head to the likes of Liverpool or Chester for a city day. Back at base, a lot of effort has gone into getting the facilities just right. The farm has a reception and shop area, two modern toilet and shower blocks (with disabled facilities) and a couple of laundry rooms with coin-operated machines. There’s also takeaway food available at the weekends in peak season. On top of all that, there are two play areas and plenty of green space for the kids to run around, and they’ll be able to see animals around the farm. Dogs are welcome and have their own exercise area to scamper about in.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Great site, really well kept.
Staff were lovely. Very peaceful and brilliant location. Loved the resident animals! Shower/toilet block was immaculate. WiFi was good considering! Really pleased and would love to go again.

Disliked Shower could have been slightly warmer, but I’m literally picking as it was so hard to find a negative!

Liked Quiet well run site Shower and toilet block extremely clean
Field to walk the dogs in on the lead was a great size
Well maintained site
Easy check in process

Disliked I would of liked to be able to let the dogs off the lead in the large field so they could run about as their were no livestock in the field It was good having the exercise area off lead but I felt the area was too small
If the shop was open for a short while in the evening though this might be as out of high season

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Well established with plenty of amenities. The toilet and shower block was modern and very clean. Nice to have some animals to look at as well

Disliked Not much, we were there for the end of the season so it was very peaceful.

Liked Very friendly greeting and great facilities for all ! Good little shop on site and close to some amazing walks and little villages as well. We will definitely recommend this camping facility and we will return . The campsite was spotlessly clean and this showed the owners had a great team working with them

Liked Facilities were great. Grandchildren had a good weekend. Lovely hosts and good site shop. Free WiFi was a bonus . We were lucky with the weather. Definitely recommend and hope to visit again.
