  • Clwydian Range 10 minutes’ drive and Flint Castle 20 minutes
  • Off-grid pop-up site with mains water; local pub 15 minutes’ walk
If you’re going back to basics in North Wales, do it at Gledlom Farm, an off-grid pop-up site in the peaceful village of Ysceifiog and surrounded by scenic Flintshire countryside. Mown pitches are on a level grass field edged by mature trees; once settled in, it’s easy to catch up with nature and escape everyday stresses. Designed for anyone who appreciates minimalist rural camping, the facilities are kept intentionally basic to preserve the field’s untouched atmosphere. Essential mains water and well-maintained portable toilets are provided, and without the distractions of electricity or modern clubhouse noise, you can relish unbroken rural views, spectacular starry night skies and the gentle pace of North Wales village life. The site is a great base for walkers and cyclists, with scenic trails right on the doorstep. After a busy day of exploration and adventure, you can wrap up the evening with a hot meal and a pint in one of the three local pubs – the nearest is 15 minutes’ walk away.

What customers say

This basic, budget-friendly campsite offers a peaceful rural escape with spacious pitches. Reviewers consistently highlight the friendly and accommodating owner, Farmer Phil, and praise the location for its scenic walks and proximity to village pubs. Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Very simple.
Plenty of space.
Owner Phil was very friendly 👍🏻
Two porta-loos.

We wanted a basic, cheap site to break-up our long journey from East Yorkshire to the West Coast. Nothing fancy - doesn't pretend to be. Exactly what we wanted 👌🏻

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked i liked the open space, the quite and how friendly and helpful Phil the farmer was. We enjoyed our week there and found it to be a great location for us, as we where hiking the north Wales coastal path.
The toilet was always clean and never out of paper, the field was spacious, which allowed for us to not fill hemmed in when others where camping also
I stayed on my own with my 12 year old son and our dog and i felt safe and secure

Disliked although did not fill hemmed in, if became to busy, then possibly could feel tight on space

Liked The site was really peaceful. Lovely views etc. Exactly what we wanted as we live busy lives throughout the week. Our Cavapoo dog loved the open space. Spoke to the owner on the phone. Very friendly. We walked to the local village and back down country lanes. Can’t fault Gledlom farm at all. Just a great site in the countryside.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Very spacious pitches, we didn't feel like we were on-top of our neighbours, comfortably fit a vehicle and tent. The site itself is well maintained, grass appears to be cut regularly, the toilet (portaloo) was clean and regularly checked and re-stocked with toilet roll and hand sanitized. The site is located in a great area with very scenic and quiet area meaning you can really take in the countryside.

The owner was very friendly, he'd come round every morning and evening, checking people are having a nice stay and if there's anything he could help with.

There's two small villages both a 10-15 minute walk away down a quiet country lane, both with a pub that serves food and have a welcoming atmosphere. They're also accessible by some slightly longer but more scenic walks down a bridal path (speak to the owner who can give you the route).

Disliked The only negative (which wasn't a major problem) was there is only one portaloo, so you may have to wait during busier times of the day like morning/late evening. Getting a second one for busier times would be ideal.
