What customers say
Glamping tents are well-equipped, clean, and spacious, with convenient power and fridge access. The adjacent animal park is a significant bonus, offering entertainment for children including tractor rides and animal feeding. Many guests highlight the unique experience of hearing animal sounds, especially wolves howling at night. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Some guests found the mattresses uncomfortable and noted a considerable walk to the toilet facilities, particularly at night. Occasional concerns were raised regarding cleanliness between stays and the value for money compared to similar accommodations.

Lovely couple of days at Greenacres. My girls (8 & 10) loved the it!
Bell tent
Liked Staff were really helpful. Tent was well equipped, spacious and clean. Site was quiet (apart from the animals. Hearing the wolves howling at night was a highlight!) My girls loved visiting the goats on the way to the toilets after the park had closed.
Disliked A bit of a walk to the toilets in the dark. The site could’ve been better laid out with the glamping/camping site next to the gate leading to the toilets and the caravan storage area at the back of the site, instead of vice versa……that being said, it wasn’t a major issue.
The mattresses are quite uncomfortable. Can put up with it for a night, but if I were staying longer I think I’d of come away with a bad back!!
The fire pit outside is great for BBQing etc, but the seating/table is quite awkward for eating/drinking at. We were trying to play games in the evening and ended up having to sit on the floor round the table.

Overall it was a really good 1 night stay for our 8yo, but okay for us
Bell tent
Liked Utensils etc - they provided a kettle (with a small selection of teas and coffees) pots and pans, plates and cutlery, small fridge caddy
Fire - the basket of firewood was a good amount. There was also a couple of blocks to ignite the fire as well as a lighter
Size and pitch - the size of the tent was good for 3 people. We also enjoyed the size of the pitch, with our own parking area as well as a nice seating area around the fire
Disliked Bed - the mattress is super thin and super firm. It’s like sleeping on the floor with a blanket as padding
Cleanliness - There was an old wrapper, a piece of food and some chewed up gum left in our tent under the bedside tables. The floor underneath the carpet was very wet, and full of bugs, so we had to keep shoes on inside the tent
Misleading info - there is no restaurant on site. There is a cafe on the zoo site but no restaurant. We went to Broughton shopping park for food
Confirmation - pitchup mentions you will receive a confirmation email 7 days before your arrival….. I emailed to check the day before and was told I will receive a confirmation tomorrow…..10am on arrival day it came through. That’s cutting it close when check in is 11:30

Booked 3 nights. Stayed 1 and left. Not great.
Bell tent (large)
Liked - Access to park is fine for kids
- Mains power is convenient
- Tent size is decent
- Most stuff you need for a stay is provided
- Parking next to tent
Disliked - These dislikes are written in the context of the price of a stay. In a vacuum, the place is not awful. But at 150-180 per night you would expect more. Far nicer and far more beautiful glamping experiences can be had within 20-30 minutes of this location for a fraction of the price. We've done them.
- Provided fur blankets for sleeping rather unhygienic
- Tent interior evidently not cleaned very well between guests. Leaves, sand, dirt on floor. Cobwebs around beds and furniture.
- Beds are plywood frames with a futon. Not particularly comfy.
- A lock for the tent is provided. The lock we got was faulty and permanently open.
- Images severely misrepresent the quality of the area. Your view in any of the glamping tents is of a large rusty container and two dozen in-storage/disused caravans and campers.
- Old animal park equipment left to rust on trailers right outside the tent makes it unsuitable to leave children unsupervised.
- The toilets are actually the in-park toilets used by park guests during the day (you have to enter the animal park via a back gate to get to them)
- Subsequently, the showers in those toilet blocks are locked during park opening hours (9 AM to 5 PM) so you cannot shower during those times.
- Distance to the toilet block is considerable
- Outdoor furniture has "provided cushions" which you'd expect to be designed for the benches but are actually just 4 tiny square pillows (1 for each guest in our case). Expect to be uncomfortable. Also expect to be avoiding sitting on and placing any of your plates and cups on the bird poo littering the table and seating.
- Price is quite high for the quality.

Bell tent
Liked It was excellent, we enjoyed every minute, the half 11 check in was great as it gave us a whole extra day, the park was great for the kids, just so much space for them to run around and run off all their energy. Everything provided was amazing and made life so much easier. Listening to the wolves howl while we were sat by the fire of an evening was beautiful
Disliked I will say the double bed was a quite uncomfortable, the mattress was very thin and you could definitely feel the solid wood underneath

The bell tent was nicely furnished and the animal park was enjoyable.
Bell tent
Liked The bell tent was clean and a good size. We enjoyed having a campfire and being opposite a small play park was a bonus. Having access to the animal park as part of the price led to a really enjoyable afternoon.
