  • Pop-up adults-only farm site with woodland views in Denbighshire
  • Kinmel Bay 15 minutes’ drive; Llandudno and Conwy Castle half an hour
  • Dog-friendly off-grid site; pub and basic shop five minutes’ drive
A peaceful north Welsh farm stay between a national park and an area of outstanding natural beauty? What’s not to like? Set on a vast, level camping field lined by mature trees, adults-only Moore Manor Campsite sits between Eryri National Park (half an hour’s drive) and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape (10 minutes) – pitch up here and you’ll have gorgeous views as your constant companion as well as plenty of outdoors adventures close by. With just a handful of pick-your-own pitches, this is a simple pop-up site with basic amenities stretching to a portable toilet and waste disposal, best-suited to self-sufficient campers, motorhome owners and caravaners with their own facilities. There isn’t any power on the field, so pack torches for after-dark wanderings. What you do get, however, is a well-maintained and safe field for any family dogs to have a run around and play. There’s an outdoor picnic area for times when the weather’s behaving, and a converted double-decker bus with indoor seating to take care of the odd drizzly day. You can pick up supplies from the essentials store in Trefnant (five minutes), which also has a pub and a fish and chip shop.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely welcoming site. Everyone was really nice. It's a great location and with it being so open the views are amazing. It was dog friendly too. I also liked that the lady messaged on the day of arrival via txt and WhatsApp. There is also signal so you can use you phone.

Disliked It only had 1 toilet that needed a little clean (Not terrible but dusty). There was a shower but it didn't work. Would be great to see that up and running along with warm water

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Standard grass pitch, with single toilet/dish washing facilities in an old static caravan. Very basic, a bit dilapidated to be honest. All as described and no surprises after reading other reviews. Quite a few semi-permanent touring caravans here. All friendly campers we met on the site, however never saw the owner but she was available on the phone. Decent base location for going out in the car through the day. The price was fair but....

Disliked ....not sure why there is a £5 surcharge for bringing 2 x dogs for 2 nights? The chemical toilet disposal was inadequate, a loose black pipe into sesspit. Didnt want to attempt to pour into this with risk of going all over my hands/clothes so ended up emptying at home.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The campsite was exactly as described. Perfect if you are happy with basic facilities, bonus it had a toilet most CL sites don’t.
Beautiful nature, very quiet.
Good pub and food nearby. Oldest pub in wales 2 miles away 1229 allegedly.
Great trout fishing up at the reservoir.
Communication more or less instant with the owner. Very friendly.
I will be back. Anthony

Liked Really liked the layout of the pitches, you had plenty of space and a lovely peaceful field. Toilet and washing up sink were inside a caravan and there was no shower but we were aware of this before visiting. The toilet was clean and stocked with toilet paper and hand soap.

Disliked Nothing not to like really.

Local attractions

Beaches beckoning? If you’re all keen to get out on the waves, head to Kinmel Bay (15 minutes’ drive) for windsurfing and kayaking expeditions. Backed by cafés, the sandy stretch at Rhyl Beach (20 minutes) is a good choice too. Spend a day in Llandudno (half an hour) pottering along the promenade or jumping on the cable cars to travel up to the top of Great Orme Country Park for spectacular Irish Sea views – before getting back down to sea level again via the dry ski slope. If you loved walking the battlements at 13th-century Conwy Castle (half an hour), cross the Menai Bridge (45 minutes) to the Isle of Anglesey. Once there, explore the keep and chapel of moated Beaumaris Castle (55 minutes) and the formal gardens of Plas Newydd House and Gardens (50 minutes).
