The welcome we received. Tried bowling which brought back our youth. Really enjoyed it. Nice clean toilet block with nice big showers. Close to the beach although extensive work going on so had too walk round to front of site to gain access again.

    Disliked:

We liked how close it was to the beach, security of site was good with the help of the nice security men, toilet blocks very nice, clean and tidy, pitches were very good, staff when booking in were very nice and polite.

    Disliked:

Very much a work in progress with some tidying up to do, we thought the building looked like it was closed, maybe because it was the end of season.

Beach for the dogs was excellent. Ten pin bowling and bar area was also excellent. The toilet and showers was very clean and modern.

The only downside was the wifi connection. Not my concern but when you have a 14 year old who 'needs' wifi it was an issue. It seems to be where you are actually pitched on the site determines whether you get a connection. The sites wifi was useless for us so we had to connect to another campsites. Seems strange when we were slap bang in the middle but did find out the wifi tx's were on each toilet block so we were in the spot where you got nothing.

Local attractions

Long strolls along the promenade and the local dog-friendly walking paths are top picks around here for those staying local; the beach is two minutes away and both Prestatyn and Rhyl are within easy reach.

Drive about an hour for Snowdonia National Park, for days exploring it by car, foot, bike or horse's hoof, getting to its heritage sites like Blaenau Ffestiniog, or puffing around it by steam railway (including one vintage trip right to the top of Snowdon via the Snowdon Mountain Railway).

The Ffrith Beach Touring Park team also recommends trips to local highlights like Orme, Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo and Llechwedd Slate Caverns – and if that's just not enough, there's also Conwy and Caernarfon castles, Rhyl SeaQuarium, Bodnant Garden, the Isle of Anglesey…

Must see

  • Rhuddlan Castle (3.4 miles)
