  • Adults-only North Wales farm site close to Snowdonia and the coast
  • Conwy, Llandudno and Zip World Betws-y-Coed 20 minutes' drive away
  • Rural location with hill views, a micro pub and a small off-licence
It’s a thoroughly grown-up setup at Ty Ni, a peaceful park on a Conwy county farm about 15 minutes’ drive from Colwyn Bay. This is an adults-only park that’s all about creating a quiet space for taking in the gorgeous views over the hills of North Wales. To boot, it has a lovely micro pub and a small off-licence – that's your afternoon drinks sorted. This location, a short hop from both the coast and Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, makes Ty Ni an excellent base for a varied break, taking in all the attractions this area has to offer. Whether you’re into gardens, castles, gentle walks, adrenaline adventures or seaside days, it’s all here within easy reach… However you choose to fill your days, you’ll be coming back to a well-kept site that’s not been overly developed but has all the essentials on hand, including washing-up sinks, a washing machine, ladies’ and gents’ toilets and showers, plus chemical waste/grey water facilities for tourers. You’ll spot a few eco-friendly touches too, like facilities for recycling and composting waste. Barbecues are permitted at this park if you’d like to spend an evening cooking outdoors while taking in the lovely rural views – as well as the small shop on site, it's not far from several local village shops for additional supplies or the bigger supermarkets in places like Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. There are also several pubs and restaurants close by that are worth checking out.

What customers say

Ty Ni is a peaceful, adult-only campsite set on a working farm with beautiful countryside views. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful owner, Carolyn, the spacious pitches, and the clean, well-maintained facilities, particularly the powerful hot showers. The on-site honesty shop and the option of a micro-pub are appreciated amenities. Some find the access roads narrow, and a few mention occasional windiness due to the elevated location. The site is ideal for those seeking a tranquil escape.

Liked I lovey peaceful little place. The views are stunning. The lady that greeted us was very nice and polite. The toilets and showers was very clean and tidy.
The pub up the road was closed when we went but the lady did a little BBQ and you could buy a drink there.
There was a little shop with a honesty box they took card or cash on the site.
If you do go make sure you follow the instructions that you get with your booking confirmation and not your satnav as my google maps took my up very steep roads that was very narrow to, we was in a motorhome.

I do like how they do want all dogs microchipped or tattooed as you are in the country side.
They are definitely dog friendly all dogs do have to stay on a lead as there are cows, sheep and some horses in the surrounding fields but you do not hear them in the night.

Disliked Nothing at all.

Liked Nice site, very chilled and relaxed.

Disliked Not being able to check in until after 2pm. I like to be set up and settled by then. Lesson learnt, always read the the site descriptions properly when booking.

Also my dogs can be reactive and it wasn't help by the owner (who is lovely I might add) having her dogs running loose and the one coming up to our set up and setting them off. Obviously its her site and she can do what she wants but it wasn't ideal for us.

Be prepared for some challenging lanes. Carolyn kindly supplies alternatives to the sat nav directions but we still ended up with some white knuckle moments towing the van lol.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Joanne. We’re pleased that you found our site lovely, welcoming and relaxing, and enjoyed the amazing views.

Just to clarify for future guests, our check-in time is clearly stated as after 2pm. We understand everyone likes to arrive and get settled at different times, but we need this time to prepare the site properly for arriving guests.

Regarding the dogs, we’re sorry that this situation wasn’t ideal for you. We are a working farm and our dogs are part of farm life, so they are sometimes around the property. We do, however, ask guests to let us know exactly how many dogs they are bringing when booking.

In this case, 5 dogs were brought onto the site, but the booking was made and paid for for 3 dogs. This is important because we need accurate information about the number of dogs staying, both for planning and for the comfort and safety of all our guests.

We appreciate that you mentioned our site is peaceful, chilled and relaxed, and that you found us welcoming. We’re sorry that some aspects of your stay didn’t suit you, and we wish you all the best with your future travels.

Liked What a fabulous campsite. Small adults only on a working farm, we got to watch the new calves feeding which was lovely.

Betti the puppy is adorable!

The new “pub” in a converted horse box is fabulous, it made for a great evening with the owner who kept us laughing.

Very clean, quiet and scenic.
Thank you Carolyn & Ty Ni 🥰

Liked Very quiet, small site, in fact the quietest place I've stayed.

Good, clean facilities with lovely hot showers. Though we didn't use them, there was a toaster and microwave that were free to use and a washing machine to use for a small charge.

There's a small shop and bar on site though we didn't use either.

Carolyn was a lovely and friendly host.

We'd definitely stay again.

Liked Just returned from a short stay at Ty Ni and it won't be the last.
Booked just the day before arrival and having escaped a somewhat "lively" site the 2 nights prior, this was heaven.
The remote location and peace was perfect and the views from the pitch spectacular.
Carolyn and Dilwyn were great hosts and work hard to make this place what it is.
Facilities are simple, but spotlessly clean and with lovely hot showers you couldn't wish for more.
The little bar and shop added to the experience and it was the perfect end to the day, watching the eclipse (poor as it was) with other guests, pint in hand.
No music, no kids, just like minded folk having a well earned break.
Thank you, Steve & Netty.

Route directions

What3words location: lived.beeline.flamingo. If you are towing large caravans or driving a large motorhome or camper, and don't like narrow lanes, please do not use Satnav devices. The route below will take you around the site, but is the best route for bigger vehicles: Exit the A55 at Abergele. You are then on the A547. Come through Abergele, but at The George and Dragon pub, turn left (at the traffic lights) onto the A548. Keep on this road for approximately 11 miles, until you see a white bungalow on the left. Then turn right onto the B5113 to Colwyn Bay. Keep on the road and come to the Holland Arms (a closed pub). The turning for the site is on the right; signs are visible on the left. Ty Ni is at a lane between two houses.

Local attractions

There are so many great places to get out for a walk around here, it might be tricky to know where to start. Among the top choices are the pretty village of Llanrwst (15 minutes’ drive) for a stroll to see its famous three-arched bridge, or Capel Curig (half an hour), which is a well-known hub of walking trails. For gentler strolls, plan trips to the likes of 80-acre Bodnant Garden (10 minutes), filled with formal gardens, meadows and champion trees, or check out the castles in Conwy (20 minutes) and Caernarfon (45 minutes). The colourful Italianate village of Portmeirion (55 minutes) is a popular day-trip destination, as is the seaside town of Llandudno (20 minutes) for a walk on the pier and perhaps a tour of the Penderyn distillery followed by a sip of their whisky. Up for a bit more action? Sign up for one of the adrenaline rushes at Zip World Betws-y-Coed (20 minutes) – perhaps a ride on the forest coaster or a go on Europe’s highest swing?
