Quite a historic getaway may be on the horizon at Kinmel Hall. Here, you’ll get to lurk around the grounds of a Welsh mansion that’s in the process of being restored with 17 acres of space, including woodlands, meadows and a landscaped garden with a fountain to explore. The country estate is a peaceful place with back to basic pods, yet it still has easy access to the A55 and the Welsh coast is 15 minutes’ drive away (there's free parking available on site so you'll be able to set sail swiftly). You’ll also be 20 minutes from Conwy Castle and 45 minutes from Snowdonia National Park, so pottering around a grand castle or more invigorating outdoor activities are well within reach too. You’ll need all the gear for a normal back to basics retreat with the exception of a tent, as the camping pods have mattresses, space to sit outside and access to basic facilities including a composting toilet. Dogs are permitted here, as are barbecues, to make for a merry time. When it comes to mealtimes, there’s a country pub within walking distance of the site. You’ll be able to get there in around half an hour. There are cafés and takeaways within a few minutes’ drive of the site, and shops too, so that you may gather together all your essentials and go-to snacks for when you’re out and about.
