What customers say

This is a lovely, friendly farm campsite offering great value and beautiful countryside views, just a short walk from the village. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, well-maintained pitches, and the availability of fire pits. While facilities are basic, they are generally clean and functional, with hot showers. Improvements to the toilet and shower block are underway. The laid-back hosts and flexible arrival/departure times contribute to a relaxing stay, making it a popular choice for short breaks and as a base for exploring the local area.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Quiet and peaceful and close to the town. Easy to book and good price.

Disliked Nowhere to wash up, no hot water to wash up. Only cold water in toilet sinks. Men’s showers were cold which meant my husband couldn’t wash properly. Camping spaces are not easily marked out so it was a free for all. Marked spaces would be better.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comment. We are shut this week for winter and washing up facilities are on to do list whilst closed.
There's signs clearly stating in the showers if a problem please ring, it can be resolved in minutes rather than waiting to write a review.
Marked spaces suit some campsites I don't doubt that but 99% of guests enjoy the fact that you are not bound to a x by x size space.
Thank you again your booking - comments taken on board.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Nice and laid back. Beautiful countryside. Flexible arrival and departure. Good value for money. Very close to llanwrytd Wells shops and pubs.

Disliked The showers were cold. If trying to keep costs down. Then it woukd be better to have coin operated showers then visitors can choose to pay for a hot shower or just pay the basic price per night

From the manager: Thank you for your stay. Sorry you experienced this, but there is signs in the showers clearly stating if there is a problem please ring the number, a problem which could be resolved in minutes instead of waiting to leave a review - the showers were hot at 2pm the day you arrived and they are checked at roughly the same time everyday. Safe travels onwards and sorry again about the showers.

Local attractions

Poke your nose into some history tales… the ruins of Llandovery Castle (20 minutes’ drive) were once a grand 13th-century fortress and the hilltop Carreg Cennen Castle (45 minutes) is another castle that has crumbled since the 13th century. At the Dolaucothi Gold Mines (half an hour), you could learn about Roman mining tricks and get down underground to see them yourselves. Elsewhere, the National Cycle Museum (25 minutes) is about the timeline of the bicycle instead. If you’re looking to get a taste of the local landscapes, you’ll be in for a treat. Elan Valley walks (half an hour) are especially scenic, with six dams around the valley the disused track Elan Valley Railway now used as a track for walkers, and Llyn Brianne (45 minutes) is another hot spot for hikers to take in lake views as they make their way around. The Brecon Beacons National Park (half an hour) has many more spectacular walks, including the climb up Pen y Fan (an hour), or there’s the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhayader (25 minutes) to see red kites being fed. Of course, for hikes coastal-style or watersports, the Pembrokeshire coastline (an hour) is also within driving distance.
