Electric optional grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Great views, quiet, spacious. Great location and a lovely walk into town mostly along the river. Very relaxed vibe.
Will come again!

Colin is very helpful.

Disliked Nothing really, it's a basic site with portaloos and horsebox showers but they are clean and there are enough of them. It's as described only better!

Liked Colin is a fantastic host. This site is perfectly situated of walking distance into Haye on Wye, 15 mins tops. As mentioned on the website it is basic, hence the fantastic price. Showers are amazing, portoloos were clean and tidy. Would recomend to anyone. If your expecting glamour this is not for you. If you expect beatiful scenery, lovely showers, a portoloo and no frills, this is for you. Thank you Colin.

Liked Well maintained and cleaned toilets and showers.
Toilets are porta poti but are cleaned throughout the day.
Showers are in horseboxes x 2 and are fantastic.
Very level ground with ehu and water.
It's only a 10 minute walk into Hay-on-Wye

Disliked There is a music venue that has loud music playing but the owner has no control over it and did apologised

Electric optional grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked nice view
Just a few mobile toilets, a old horse trailer as a shower, just so simple and special. And still evrything there you really need.
Owner comes there multiple times a day and checks up and was super nice in general. Didnt got ask if i have evrything i need for a while, so he cares about his guests. He doesn't take too many guests (and warns you that "a lot" (~20 People) will arrive tomorrow). Wich makes the campsite really quite and relaxing.

What customers say

This is a quiet, basic campsite in a great location, a short walk from Hay-on-Wye and near the river. Guests praise the friendly and helpful owner, Colin, the clean facilities including hot showers in horseboxes, and the beautiful views. While some note the simplicity of portaloos and washing-up facilities, many find the site excellent value for money and plan to return. A minority comment on the condition of some facilities or the price of EHU.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Great location, short walk into Hay on Wye, short drive into Brecon. Campsite manager was extremely helpful explaining where everything was on, recommended the best pubs to visit for a drink and food and was just generally very helpful. Toilets and showers were kept clean and we're fit for purpose.

Local attractions

To fully take advantage of being so close to the Wye, you'll want to spend a generous portion of your holiday messing about by, in or on the water. Local coarse fishing opportunities are a five-minute drive away, while those looking to expend a bit more energy can head to Celtic Canoes (five minutes) to rent a riverworthy craft. Other, bigger bodies of water like Llangorse Lake (20 minutes) are also worth scouting out, particularly if you're into hiking – the lake and its surrounding villages have some of the loveliest walks around. If there's demand for further outdoor action, you can easily make the trip to Black Mountain Activities (10 minutes), where a range of land and water-based options are yours for the choosing. While 100% Welsh holidays certainly have appeal, travellers planning on staying here a bit longer might also like to look at what's over the border in England. The top three highlights? It's a tough call, but Neolithic Arthur's Stone (15 minutes), Hereford's Cider Museum (25 minutes) and Hampton Court Castle (45 minutes) are all strong contenders.
