What customers say

Wyeside is a beautifully situated, well-maintained campsite with spacious pitches, praised for its cleanliness and immaculate facilities, including showers and laundry. Staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, with the site manager receiving specific commendation. Located a short walk from Rhayader town centre, the site offers easy access to local amenities and scenic walks, including the Red Kite feeding centre. While most guests report a peaceful and enjoyable stay, one reviewer experienced a significant issue with site management and an overcrowded feeling, though this is not reflected in other recent feedback. Road noise was noted by one guest as a detractor.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked We stayed at Wyeside 2nd October - 5th October 2026.
What a fabulous site. Very friendly site managers and very helpful.
Excellent facilities, the cleanest yet! Thank You.
The grounds are looked after and are immaculate.
No over crowding our pitch was on the riverside, very peaceful.
Short walk into Rhayader which is such a lovely Market Town with lots of Pubs and Restaurants. Very friendly. The walks are a delight. We visited the Red Kite centre and watched the Kites being fed - this was also fascinating, again within walking distance.
Will definitely be rebooking as we still have lots more to see in the Elan Valley.

Local attractions

Rhayader is a lovely place to take a wander, with a riverside path and a pleasing number of pubs to try out. Just to the south of the town is the Red Kite Feeding Station (five minutes’ drive), where you can watch the daily feeding sessions from the open field or a bird hide. For more town wanders, head to Llandrindod Wells (15 minutes) or Builth Wells (20 minutes), both full of independent shops and places to eat. Llandrindod Wells is also home to the National Cycle Museum and Radnorshire Museum. Of course, it’s the stunning scenery that brings most visitors to this area, so you’ll want to plan a few walks or bike rides while you’re here – perhaps starting at the reservoirs of the Elan Valley (10 minutes) before moving on to Gilfach Nature Reserve (10 minutes) or Clywedog Reservoir (half an hour).
