Liked Beautifully presented Shepherd’s hut, convenient amenities and peaceful lakeside view made this a perfect 2 night stay for us. Owner was very friendly and took good care of our comfort. Definitely visiting back for a good fishing lessons and experience again.

Liked Absolutely amazing experience! My partner caught a lot of fish here and had a great time! The shepherds hut was luxurious and very comfortable. Would recommend 10/10. Mike was absolutely lovely and really looks after you:)

Liked Me and my husband and our 2 dogs spent 2 nights in the shepherds hut. Upon arrival Mike greeted us at the gate and gave us directions to our hut and met us there to hand us our keys and explain everything we needed to know about the hut and fishing he answered every question we had.

The hut itself was lovely! We wasnt sure what it would come with so we brought some bits along but there wasnt one thing other than our clothes food and fishing gear that was needed as it came fully equipped with literally everything required for the 2 nights stay, amazing! It came with a double bed and TV, a fan and underfloor heating, outdoor seating which was lovely to sit and eat outside the hut and a lovely welcome basket with tea, milk and some biscuits and newly picked fruit.

There was enough take aways within a 10 minute drive as we didn't fancy cooking on a evening and a little morrisons at the petrol station 5minutes away to supply us with food we needed.

The morning after the arrival we were up early for a great day of fishing, the lake itself is pretty and it was lovely and peaceful just what we wanted, the regulars were also very friendly, Mike came around for a visit to check in while we were finishing to make sure we had everything we needed and how the first night went.

Fishing wise we caught about a dozen fish each biggest being just over 15lbs.

We couldn't fault this place and Mike, It was definitely worth the visit, if we lived closer this would definitely be a regular spot we would visit!

Liked I love everything about this stay! I took my partner for his birthday and everything was amazing, Michael and his family are lovely and very helpful, we loved the plums! Such a great spot for fishing too many many fish caught and such a nice clean space with a lovely cabin to stay too. Would 100% come back again!

Disliked I would say a slightly thicker mattress would make the stay even better but I would return regardless!

Liked Where to start?! Everything was perfect!! The location, the fishing, the hut itself to the owner.. we could not fault a thing!

Me and my husband spent the weekend in the shepherd hut and what a stay! We did not want to leave. When we arrived we were greeted by Mike the owner and he was lovely! He shown us how to get to our hut and met us there for a little run down of how everything in hut worked and where everything was etc, gave us our key and away we went.

The hut itself was amazing! Equipped with absolutely everything you could need! Double bed, tv (which has Netflix, Disney etc on it you can log into), fan on the wall for hot nights, under floor heating for cold evenings. There is 2 tables which open up for extra tabletop space and a place to eat together so you don’t have to eat on the bed. There’s a small fridge, a kettle, 2 electric hobs, microwave. plenty of cups, cutlery, chopping boards, pots and pans etc, everything you could need!! We even got some coffee, tea and milk and a little welcome hamper which was a lovely touch! There is a separate bathroom in the hut which had a toilet, sink and shower in. We had towels and toilet roll which again was a lovely touch! Overall great facilities!!!

We arrived in the evening so we decided to get the rods out for a few hours in the evening just to get a lay of the land and have a little warm up for the full day fishing the next day. Just that little few hours I caught about 15 roach quite good sizes some babies some just under a pound it was fun.

The following day we got up around 7am to the most beautiful view of the lake from our hut, had a coffee and away we went to fish for the day! We fished for 12 hours straight and during the day Mike came round for a visit to check in and see how we was and if there was anything we needed and how we were getting on fishing which was a lovely added touch. Overall we caught about 7 carp ranging from 3lb to a beautiful 16lb, 4 tench, lots of medium sized roaches too! It was a brilliant day! All of the fish are well looked after, all beautiful!

We have definitely found our home away from home and we are already looking for dates we can go again! Thank you to Mike once again, our stay was amazing!

Liked the shepards hut was just as pictures showed. the owner mike was very friendly and showed and told us everything we needed to know, nothing was too much trouble. the hut was spotless and you had all you needed for your stay. we will deffo return lovely peaceful site and a lovely welcome pack too which was appreciated thank you so much for a lovely break xx
