  • Luxurious, pre-erected tent with hill views near Llanidloes in Powys
  • A 15-minute drive to Glyndwr’s Way; 25 to the Red Kite Feeding Station
  • Well-equipped kitchen, walks on-site and a 10-minute drive to the pub
With far-reaching and serene views over thickly wooded valleys and green hills, Woodland Waterfalls is a peaceful retreat with just one luxuriously appointed tent (already erected so you can settle straight in), ideal for small families or as a comfy nook for couples looking for a quiet break together. Positioned to capture the sun and moon rising, the tent has a well-kitted out kitchen and an assortment of cutlery, crockery and pans. Bench seat and a dining table fold up for extra space and there are two double beds, each with its own privacy tent. A convector heater will keep you cosy, and there’s an exclusive-use shower and loo tent close by – bring a torch for nocturnal adventures. Parking is 20 metres from the tent. In a sheltered setting among beech trees, the tent is close to streams feeding five pools, one with five-metre waterfalls that can be floodlit after dark. With two acres of private woodland to roam, you can follow paths to wooden benches with countryside views, plus a swinging bench and a waterside hammock. If you have a wander down the lane, you’ll come across rare-breed sheep and angora goats. Look up to catch buzzards, red kites and swallows swirling in the thermals, and count how many bird species you can spot on the bird table by the tent – the chances are you’ll be visited by robins, blackbird and occasionally woodpeckers. Despite its tiny size, Llanidloes village (10 minutes’ drive) has a supermarket, an organic grocery shop and a health-food store, plus a vegetarian restaurant and a couple of pubs.
