Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Very basic site- good for short stay.

Disliked: We were told by neighbour after setting up that caravans must all be facing a certain way but were not told this prior to arriving. Quite difficult to move around due to the way people had parked. Only one shower, which did not seem much for a site of this size.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Our site may seem basic, but most of our visitors are very happy with their stays. Our facilities are listed on our pitchup profile as are photos of the facilities and we are sure you must have looked at these and the location before booking. We were always on hand via phone if you had of needed anything at all, we do wish you had of gotten in contact. We do wish you would have asked us if you needed to turn around the caravan rather than a neighbour, this was not necessary where you were situated or for the duration of your stay. We could also have helped with this, had we known and if you had of wanted a hand. We have only seen a queue for the shower once in the last year and that was a family group taking turns. No other queues. Most visitors have their own facilities in their caravans. However, we do have plans to add more showers, but we are sure you can appreciate that this is extremely costly and certainly cannot happen during peak season.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: It was cheap. The toilets were a little dated but clean and worked well. The owner was very friendly on check in and was quick to deal with any issues. Great location, pub and Thomas shop on the door stop. Short drive to Llandrindod Wells and Elan Valley.

Disliked: Only one shower in the block and it was very weak. Also lots of bugs as the windows and door were left over. Could be solved with some bug screens and door closed?

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi, thank you for your review. We are working on adding more showers, we are sure you can understand these things do not happen over night (we only took over in April). We do shut the windows and doors, but visitors keep opening them, but we will consider bug screens as that would save an lot of work. Our toilets and panels are older, but not damaged or untidy and it does not fit with our sustainability goals to change them for the sake of it. We hope you had a nice trip and safe journey home.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: The pub just outside the camp.

Disliked: Very tired campsite with mainly seasonal pitches that the caravans have seen better days. Pitches overgrown, elsan point the most unsanitary I have ever seen. Only 1 shower for males and 1 for females. Outdoor washing area cold water only. Very tight to get onto pitches..

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are very disappointed that you did not have a good time, and I do wish when we had spoken on Friday morning that you had said you were not enjoying our site and maybe we could have helped you find another site close by more to your liking. I would never be so rude as to suggest to our guests that their caravans were tired and unwelcome if a little older than some others. We have undertaken a great deal of upgrade works since taking over running the site in the spring. I am sure to some people the fittings in the toilet block look tired, but they are not unclean or broken and changing them does not fit with our sustainability goals. The block was painted before opening in spring, unfortunately some of the special paint that was recommended to us has peeled, this will be rectified when we close in October. The pitches are not overgrown. There is some greenery, but we do not use pesticides for the sake of it, that is against legislation. The Elsan point is not unsanitary, there green patches from the surrounding trees, but we certainly won’t be cutting them down. It is not unusable and is clean and sanitary. Behind the toilet block is not for public access, the elsan can be accessed from the other side. The items behind the toilet block belong to visitors who have asked to leave them there. It is not rubbish and not in public view. The washing up facilities were removed during our upgrades, we have since been waiting for the plumber to return to fit the hot water tap. Others have no problem accessing the pitch. If you had of asked we could have helped you. I do believe that our location is listed on our Pitch up profile, so do find it difficult to understand why you did not like the location. Value, we are cheaper than many competitors and many other guests tell us that we are too cheap. Customer service you have rated as 1, we have always been contactable during your visit and there has always been someone here. I spoke to you on Friday morning, we do wish you had of gotten in contact if you had any issues, I don’t believe we have had any calls from you. The facilities and activities offered are listed on our pitch up profile for everyone to view. We take constructive comments very seriously and always do our best to provide an enjoyable break for our guests. We are not perfect and there is work to be done, but we have only been running the site since April and I am sure you can appreciate we cannot invest in everything in one go. If you run your own businesses as we do, I am sure you can appreciate the complexities.
