Caravan park

  • Small, family-run caravan park with views over Cardigan Bay
  • In a valley within walking distance of Tresaith and Penbryn beaches
  • Good access to local walks; play area and dog-walking field on site
One, two, three beaches within a short drive of your caravan? That’s what you get at Dyffryn Bern Caravan Park, a small caravan park one mile off the A487. With stunning sea views over Penbryn, Cardigan Bay and the Llŷn Peninsula – don’t miss the sunsets – this park is both scenic and convenient. First, that location: Dyffryn Bern Caravan Park is in a small, gentle valley between the sandy beaches of Tresaith (home to a natural cliff waterfall) and Penbryn. Walking to either is possible, taking about 25 minutes for Tresaith and half an hour for Penbryn along a wooded path with views of the bay, valley and a 12th-century church. The two beaches are connected by the Wales Coast Path, which, of course, has many more miles of walking. Speaking of walking, there’s a nice woodland walk from the caravan park to a small lake. It's not for swimming, but do keep your eyes peeled for dragonflies, mallard ducks, moorhens, coots and the rare kingfisher. Dyffryn Bern Caravan Park is small, peaceful and family-run. All of the caravans have their own parking space and access to facilities, including a small play area with climbing frames for kids, a large field for dog walking and self-service washing machines and dryers. Birds like buzzards, red kites and swallows are often seen overhead at the park and in the local area. The nearest food shops are at the petrol station in Tan-y-groes and in Brynhoffnant (a small supermarket), both five minutes’ drive away from the park. A nice dog-friendly café with locally sourced produce is in Penbryn, 25 minutes’ walk away. Your appetite will most likely be high if you’ve indulged in some kayaking or surfing at the local beaches.

Route directions

If you’re travelling from the south on the A487, take the left-hand exit signposted Tresaith (after the second layby). If you are travelling down from the north on the A487, do not take the first exit signposted Tresaith 1.5 miles. The lane is narrow with minimal passing places and is frequently used by farm machinery. Continue onto the next signpost for Tresaith and turn right into the lane. This lane has plenty of passing places. Avoid taking the right-hand fork exit roughly three-quarters of a mile down. Continue down the hill to the T junction and turn left – there is a park sign on the grass verge on the left – and then take an immediate right. There are two houses on either side of the turning. After a quarter of a mile, you’ll reach the park entrance.
