  • Family- and dog-friendly Ceredigion site a mile from Plwmp
  • A 15-minute drive from the beaches at New Quay and Llangrannog
  • Simple, spacious grass pitches; campfires and barbecues welcome
Coastal walks with your best (canine) pal, dolphin-spotting boat tours and lengthy beach days… might you fancy saying a big yes please to all that? At Gellie Camping, a small family-run and family-friendly place just under a mile from the village of Plwmp in Ceredigion, West Wales, it’s all within easy reach. Gellie Camping is a top spot for anyone who wants to explore the Welsh coastline, with the Ceredigion Coast Path and its stunning views over Cardigan Bay passing less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. If you’re not the walking type, you can see the coastline from a different angle with a boat trip around the bay (keep an eye out for dolphins), or stay active on site with a game of volleyball or a kickabout on the football pitch. Barbecues and campfires are allowed at the site, so fire one up (stacked high with goodies from the shop less than five minutes away), or enjoy the spoils around the other; washing-up facilities are on site whichever you pick. Prefer to take a break from cooking (and cleaning)? Plenty of restaurants are within 15 minutes of Gellie Camping.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Wide open space, good washing area and toilet block and amazing football and volleyball field
Option of open fire obviously not used this time
Plenty of hide and seek places for kids
Road is over brow of hill, only hear the occasional keen biker

The night sky, facing North to the annual metior shower was amazing, so clear and unexpected.

Disliked We chose the field closer to the shower block and there's not a lot of level ground, especially for larger tents

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Great find. Campervan and one person only £8pn.
4G was adequate. Phone signal good. (Lebara).
No set pitches so Camp where you choose. Two large camping fields surrounded by wild meadow fields. Virtually empty, even though school summer holidays.
Very adequate seperate male female showers and toilets.
Washing up facilities and recycling.
Volley ball pitch and football pitch between the 2 large camping fields.
Lovely friendly owner.
4 miles to the beach. Lovely cycle ride. Remember it's all uphill back!
Lots of other beaches in driving distance. I'm a cyclist, so all easily accessible on quiet lanes, after a few hundred metres on the A road, if you do not mind hills.
I live in a rural area and found the campsite quiet. A little distant road noise but never really noticed it.

Disliked Nothing.
