  • Family- and dog-friendly Ceredigion site a mile from Plwmp
  • A 15-minute drive from the beaches at New Quay and Llangrannog
  • Simple, spacious grass pitches; campfires and barbecues welcome
Coastal walks with your best (canine) pal, dolphin-spotting boat tours and lengthy beach days… might you fancy saying a big yes please to all that? At Gellie Camping, a small family-run and family-friendly place just under a mile from the village of Plwmp in Ceredigion, West Wales, it’s all within easy reach. Gellie Camping is a top spot for anyone who wants to explore the Welsh coastline, with the Ceredigion Coast Path and its stunning views over Cardigan Bay passing less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. If you’re not the walking type, you can see the coastline from a different angle with a boat trip around the bay (keep an eye out for dolphins), or stay active on site with a game of volleyball or a kickabout on the football pitch. Barbecues and campfires are allowed at the site, so fire one up (stacked high with goodies from the shop less than five minutes away), or enjoy the spoils around the other; washing-up facilities are on site whichever you pick. Prefer to take a break from cooking (and cleaning)? Plenty of restaurants are within 15 minutes of Gellie Camping.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, friendly, and peaceful campsite offering great value. Campers praise the spacious pitches, clean facilities including hot showers, and the relaxed atmosphere. Its location is ideal for exploring the coast. Some minor points raised include potential road noise, occasional midges, and a desire for updated shower facilities and more shelving. A dairy farm nearby can cause early morning noise for light sleepers.

Liked Great campsite, well laid out. 2 fields to choose from. Added bonus for me was there were only a few other campers so I was able to move my van when needed into the shade.
Road noise is minimal and at night I didn’t hear anything. Lovely owner who showed me on arrival where everything was and where the fields are to choose from.
Some vehicles may find chocks helpful especially when busy and less options for positioning. Thankfully I managed without as did the other vans when I stayed.

Liked Staff were friendly and helpful, showed us around the site after an easy check in. There's 2 camping fields to choose from, we stayed in the bigger field that had plenty of space to pick your own spot. Toilet/shower facilities were clean and tidy, and there was drinking water available at the entrance to the fields. Was a peaceful, relaxed stay in a great location, only a few minutes drive from a petrol station/shop, and a really nice pub/restraunt. Would definitely stay again

Local attractions

If beach days are what your dream hols are made of, then you’re going to have no problem getting to sleep at Gellie Camping – you can check out the spectacular sandy beaches of Cymtydu, Llangrannog and New Quay, all within 15 minutes’ drive of the site. Your seaside excursions don’t have to stop at the water’s edge either… head to Aberaeron, 15 minutes away, to cast off on a dolphin-watching boat tour, or stick around a little longer in New Quay for windsurfing, paddleboarding, waterskiing and sailing with Cardigan Bay Watersports. But what to do if the kids (or you) aren’t fans of the water? Credit card still burning a hole in your pocket? High street shopping is a 25-minute drive away in Cardigan – come for the shopping, stay for the museums, galleries and the Welsh Wildlife Centre.
